  1. This is the constitution party's stance on the 2nd amendment. Gun Control The 2nd Amendment strictly limits any interference with gun ownership by saying: "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." The right to bear arms is inherent in the right of self defense, defense of the family, and defense against tyranny, conferred on the individual and the community by our Creator to safeguard life, liberty, and property, as well as to help preserve the independence of the nation. The right to keep and bear arms is guaranteed by the Second Amendment to the Constitution; it may not properly be infringed upon or denied. The Constitution Party upholds the right of the citizen to keep and bear arms. We oppose attempts to prohibit ownership of guns by law-abiding citizens, and stand against all laws which would require the registration of guns or ammunition. We emphasize that when guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have them. In such circumstances, the peaceful citizen's protection against the criminal would be seriously jeopardized. We call for the repeal of all federal firearms legislation, beginning with Federal Firearms Act of 1968. We call for the rescinding of all executive orders, the prohibition of any future executive orders, and the prohibition of treaty ratification which would in any way limit the right to keep and bear arms.
  2. We have one www.constitutionparty.com Its just that not enough people are informed about it or willing to invest the amount of time to get the word out there. Apathy runs deep in this country. It is a byproduct of comfort. Guilty.
  3. 338-06 and I can't wait to be able to shoot it.Hopefully i'll be making some progress in the next couple weeks.
  4. Trying to figure it all out

  5. Just thought I'd put a pic up of where its at so far...
  6. What kind of finish do you have on that metal Don? Where did your stock come from? That is a beautiful rifle I agree with Ken I'd be happy If I can someday do one that looks half that good. Matt
  7. Thanks guys. I posted this on another forum and got the same response. I guess I've still got alot to learn but I'm glad that it's not what i thought it was to correct my mistakes so i'm excited to keep working on it again. I'll keep y'all updated as i progress. thanks again. Matt
  8. Well after what has been a very long time and seems like a lifetime I am getting back to work on my first build. However just before I stopped work on it quite some time ago I messed up on the stock. I was attempting to make (i'm not sure of the proper terminology here) a scallop in the front of the comb on my oberndorf stock and went too far on one side. Now I am unsure how to correct this. Obviously it's easier to take wood out then put it back. Unfortunately I have learned this the hard way. I have been reading on several sites about fixing stocks where chunks are missing by epoxying a piece in then sanding to fit. My thought was to try to do something like that maybe with a piece taken from the center of the butt from the heel end which would be covered by the recoil pad eventually. It is such a slight amount to repair but it sticks out like a sore thumb and i believe it will only do moreso once the oil finish is on it. Any and all suggestions please. I am quite upset with myself and really at a loss what to do. Thanks in advance. Matt
  9. Nice job.I really like the timber colored laminates especially with the rosewood tip and cap. I almost went with 35 Whelen for my first but I chose the 338-06 instead. How hard was doing the charger hump and front ring by hand? I've got a turk that's bound to be my next one. I think I'm gonna do a 7x57.
  10. Well be grateful you can say former. Now just say a prayer for him. He obviously needs it.
  11. Yes.It is the same. I guess I should've said I need to borrow a set of 30-06 gauges.
  12. Does anyone have any experience with the Pilkington Classic finishes? I want to put a slight red color in my english walnut stock and I was wondering how to go about it?
  13. Jim, Thanks! found the recoil pads. I like the red one that you have for my build too. How did you fit the barrel band swivel since they aren't tapered but the barrel is? Also what do you do to drill for your sights? how do you secure the barrel for drilling? Sorry for all the questions but this build is my first one and i really dont know what i'm doing... Matt
  14. Ok Jim, thanks for the info. Where do you get the galzan pad? I like the rifle so far. I really want one in 375 H&H someday but ive read it takes too much out of the feed ramp and it weakens the action...you obviously dont agree? How do you go about fitting the barrel band swivel? I wanted to do one of those my self.Where did you get the front sight? Ive seen some from NEGC but they are pretty expensive.
