Brought me my B day gifts.. a jerky making gun,extra spcies and 3 lbs of black angus flank steak..looks like I'll be making jerky tomorrow...But of course our dog will be there to help supervise..He'll get his share and also will make him some more dried chicken jerky..

Having a great birthday today..My daughter gave me a new camera cell phone,the BIL has a buyer for my Marlin 336W. Grilled a 2.79lb tri-tip.. with apple smoked bacon infused mashed potatoes and cold slaw... Now this evening my daughter's best friend is bring a gift by..Tih evenings dessert is a home made lemon merengue pie .... Couldn't get any better....

Hi again,this is strait shooter.. what a mess!! I finally remembered my sing in stuff.thanks for the help.. It's all written down and posted by my comp.. I've moved up to northern ca. about 15 miles from Redding..have been off so long and w/o a laptop or smart phone,I lost all contact with the internet. Been in the remote areas of northern ca.. been shooting wildlife video and covering bluegrass concerts... I built a 8mm-308 once!! ..It was a waste of time..Shot great but it was just a can I do it gun..sold it..Built a 8mm-300win mag more than enuff gun for any USA animal...To your Q ? yes it can be done but better carts out there as wildcats...JMOO..Dave

FC.. no the death was expected..she'd been sick for a long time... We buried her 2 fridays ago and last week my wife's aunt died.. Now we have to bury her today... Still settling the MIL's estate..We'll be up here for another 4-6 weeks. Hi everyone..Sorry I've been AOL but my wife and I have been outta town for the past 2 months... The MIL had been very sick..She past way on the 13th of this month.. Been taking care of the arrangments.. will be playing her favorite song for her at the service on my keyboards.. The funeral will be this friday.. then WE go back down to our own home after the service. Will be back up here on monday eve.. hope to get on more often.. as we just got the net here last week.. I also forgot my sign in name etc... Oh stupid me for not writing it down, I did buy another computer for up here.. OH ...here is a small town called Cottonwood...about 20 miles from Redding,Ca. So should be back on the site with all you fine folks in a few more days.. Still got alot of things to settle and close for her...Dave

FC.. I was using Pinnacle Studio 12 software..It came with their DVD Recorder Plus video capture unit.. I think I paid about $55 for it. It lets you capture analog video and audio.It converts it into digital format on your comp..You can upload your vhs, analog Hi8 home movies to the comp or directly to a dvd... I do have 13 other specialty software for different projects such as adding water,rain,snow to stills and can emport it as wmv or avi for dvds and the net...I'm still a gun nut,just can't do much shooting cause of shoulders.. I can however do bench resting,just leave the cannons at home..I'm planning on purchasing Pinnacle studio 14 premium collection. It has a green screen also.. It's what the big boys use in LA,Ca for video production.. You can get it at Best Buy stores.I have some stills I've added movement to. I can make rivers,waterfalls, lakes,streams come to life. I can also add water to pictures that don't have water..Will post them in photobucket and upload a few here if you would like. thanks..Dave

have had 2 shoulder surgeries and the shoulder still has problems. I'm on SSD now so it's time to accept the facts that my mechanics career is over..Have lots of pain and can't maneuver my arms like I use to anymore. So I'm shifting to a diff avenue of enjoyment.Over the past 4 years, we've been collecting the software, hardware for me so I cam produce music, and make videos of wildlife and stills mountains and outdoor life.I've always loved fixing things that don't work but the time has come for mwe to retire permanently from that type of life....Dave

Hi everyone.. Dave here. Thought I'd stop in and just say that forced retirement sucks. The only good thing is i have more time for my recording studio and my video production stuff. Picked up some killer audio mixing software..taking lots of mountain videos and our 250 mi range trips.. plan on doing a video of all the highlights of our moutain ranges here. will keep you all in the loop of things..enough said the grill is ready for a 3lb tri-tip, and foil wrapped corn on the cob.The daughter is deep frying green beans and okra..bye for now...cheers PS.. How has everyone been. IU've been not too good. Have had shoulder surgery twice on the same shoulder.. Now I find out I have carpel tunnel in both wrists..Looks like it's time to retire...I filed for SSD in Jan. and I just got the word that I'm approved..Will get my first check in the end of june.. Got lots of time now to work on my recording/video production studio.I picked up my new digital video camcorder. It's way cool. had been using the old school Hi8 type...Gotta run daughter needs help ..will try to come on more now..

Hi foks. Just wanted to wish everyone a merry christmas..We're going to have a great one.. Our daughter and her best friend are here from South Korea..I furnished a tri-tip bbq dinner for my daughter's freind and her mom.. The daughter will be here for 3 weeks.. She brought her dog with her to live with us for 6-7 weeks while she finishes out her work contract... Just wanted to let you all know I'm still here.. lots of med problems still with the wife.... Will try to be on more often...Dave

Emotionally she is torn apart.. however yesterday about 3 hrs after church,she saw the blinds on our bedroom window while lying on the bed about 8ft away...That's a start..Will go back to the docs on fri for another look see of the eyes. I have to put in drops aboput every 4-6 hrs. I don't get much sleep either but the drops and med pills keep her asleep most of the time.. But then again that's what you do in the name of love..Which I'm happy to do.. Willkeep you all posted some time this weekend.. Today Mon, is my day for the docs,,,,the shoulder doc and the reg doc for my high bp 165/110..See you guys later ...Dave

Sorry to get back so late....She is now legally blind and only 2% sight in the right eye, with only blurred light in the left... I'm racking up the miles going to the doctors at mercy med center ..they are 52 miles round trip. they need to do more lasik in the right eye to get rid of abnormal blood vessels. So far it looks like the surgey was a bust, but only time will tell. At least no more headaches This has been a really bad past 2 years for us. All we can do now is have faith in the doctors and the lord. At times she can see a shadow moving across the light in the left eye.. Will keep you all updated as time goes on... thanks for the good thoughts....Dave

Hey folks, I need all the help I can get for my wife. She goes in for eye surgery in the monring. They will put 3 holes in the eye then remove scar tissue which is causing high pressure. As of now she is legally blind..Any prayers or good thoughs would be appreciated..thanks Dave

Hey guys/gals. had a great B-Day yesterday.. my daughter called me from S.Korea and sent me a Harley davidson guitar strap with te H.D emblem and silver studs, It was a real suprise.. the wife let me call my best buddy in AU. for 1 hr on the phone. Kids can suprise ya some times. Of course my only son didn't even email me... He ain't in the will either.. Had a great dinner too , with a really nice cake..with all this, the day was good. BTH,,the arm is healling great.. Got a new personal doctor, he is good...Thanks for letting me say hey...Dave

hi t-5, i'm a lefty also i pimarily shoot rght handed gun as a left by crossing over the action to open/close the bolt. i have on occasion shot both ways... parfon the mistakes using 1 finger only. man this sucks..
