FC
I bought a helmet today in Budapest for about $72. Best I can discern it's a M38 Hungarian WW2 helmet, 18th Reserve Division. Saw action on the eastern front spring, 1944.

rdm1962
That cool. How difficult is it to get that kind of stuff through customs?
Dr.Hess
Now there's a souvenir.
FC
I don't foresee a problem. The Roman numerals on the helmet sold me!
FC
I read about the seige of Budapest. It was very brutal. Also the murder of the Jews.
FC
Reading some boards they say m38 went to the Finns, and m35 was Hungarian. They also say blue-gray is civil defense. I'll post them pictures later to get better ID. I don't see any pictures where Romance numerals are on the helmet.
FC
The seige of Budapest was just brutal. Read the link to the Arrow Cross Party too about what they did to the Jews. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siege_of_Budapest
FC
I found this site and pdf: http://newfront.ca/data/documents/MA...PRING-2012.pdf and see that I have a fireman's helmet, 18th fire district. I'm not sure why they posted, "Post 1950"? I think I'll sell it on Ebay. I think fire-related stuff has its own following.
