Trump's comment today through our UN ambassador telling them that if they vote against us, we'll just hold onto their "free" money was a good one. Decades ago, I listened to a talk by a former KGB agent. It was the height of the cold war and he had defected to the west. He said that the Russians did not want to destroy the US. They considered us to be like a giant chicken that laid eggs. The chicken wasn't to be killed, just prodded into laying eggs for them. I think that's how most of the rest of the world thought of us for a long time. At least, the powerful countries. The piss-ant countries just wanted "free" stuff from us.
