donmarkey
Anything to look out for. I was looking to do a large 30 cal. Like a .300 h&h or .300 weatherby. Something a little smaller than my 30-378. I never done too much with enfield but I like the cock on close action of my 1917 winchester. -Don
roscoedoh
If you don't have one already, get a copy of Harald MacFarland's Modern Gunsmithing. Though most of the information in the book is pretty old, he works almost exclusively on Enfields. And for the $7 I paid for it, I learned a lot about Enfields. Were I to ever tinker with Enfields, I'd do a trio of something like : 300 H&H, 375H&H, 458 Lott. I can't imagine I'd ever need anything else. I might be persuaded to go with a 300 Weatherby for reasons of practicality, I just kinda like the H&H more. Also, Numrich sells a sheetmetal magazine kit that's properly contructed for 3.6" cartridges and costs like $8. You might look into this as well.
