NCShooter
AT the last gun show I purchased several barrlled actions, one of which is one of the yugo sanitized model 98s. In working this one over I have removed the rear sight. But in doing so it appears to have a sleeve under it, or so I thought. Now I am not sure if it's a sleeve or a step in the barrel. It is unlike the Sweed or 1908 I am working on. If I am not mistaken, these were german wartime production??? Any info would be greatly appreciated...... z1r
All the mauser rear sight bases are sleeves that are soft soldered on. Since this is a K98, remove the screw at the rear. On all others, remove the screw at front.
BobVZ
Thats not a sleeve under the rear sight, its part of the barrel. The other guns you mentioned lack this feature and use a smaller diameter rear sight base.
