spec4 e4
I have been looking at the AR-10 lately and was thinking of building me one. I have looked all over the web and found only an few makers for the AR-10 receiver. DPMS, Armlite, Fulton, and some odds and end. What is the the best receiver for the buck? I got an image in my head as to what the AR-10 will look like but need to think of the lower 1st. Thanks Rob
roscoedoh
Rob, I got bit by the semi-auto bug too and really want a heavy barreled AR-10 variant. I've spent some time looking into them and unlike the AR-15 that is carried by most of the armies of the Free World, the AR-10 was never issued to anyone en mass and was likewise never produced in large quantities. So, finding parts kits, magazines, and other goodies to build an AR-10 is somewhat self-defeating and expensive. From what I've seen, your best bet is probably to save up your pennies and buy an entire rifle from someone like DPMS.
