Bob58
Very nice. You should be proud. Very nice bolt handle work - looks just like my favorite, the FN-style.
ken98k
Congrats on the build. I bet you're glad to have it completed. I was wondering what those Remington actions looked like. What's next?

Brenden
I looked at the pics of the bolt, holy cow! Those bumps are just small particles. Hardly noticable in person. Thats what i get for dura-coating in a wind storm, but hey, thats the only day that wasn't 20 and snow on the ground! Next in line is my dads sweed in 6.5x55, a yugo 24/47 .308, a mex 1910 in 257 Roberts or an Ackley improved version, and then the 93 in 7x57. I'm hooked. I am anxious to do more, I feel I have alot of room for improvement in craftsmanship and action choice. The rem action isn't bad, it was the most economical at the time before I had some tools. Soon I will be able to D/T my own. Brenden

Clark
That Oak table looks like some quarter sawn furniture my grandparents got in the 1920s and 1930s. An elegant cut of wood for a more civilized age.
Ron J
Very nice job, Brendan. You gotta bring it to Rods for the roast. It is well thought out to make the right choices about what you wanted to do yourself. So the things you did, you did well, because you could. I also want to weld a handle someday, but I'll practice on a lot of scrap before I ruin a bolt. I think that's the reason your "first" does not look like a first. 680guy
Nice work Brenden. Did you realize you've created the perfect elk and moose rifle (and deer as well). Any plans to put it to work? GUY
RonE
Great job! How does it shoot? Have you thought about going the other direction for your next rifle? Try a .30-338WinMag ! The 30-338 is about the same as a .308 Norma Mag and is made by necking .338 Win Mag down to 30 cal or necking the 7mm Rem Mag case up to .30 cal. Brenden
Thanks guyes. I had this build in mind just for the possibility of going elk hunting some day. That and i just wanted a "large" bore gun. I'm not much into the big mags, i've got a 7 mag and its enough. This gun will do anything i would put the .338 mag up to with less kick and less powder. I plan to try it out on WV deer as soon as season comes in or the freezer gets empty, which ever comes first Shooting wise, i'm a bit disapointed but its my own fault. It averages 1" to 1.5" at 100 yards. Thats ho hum. It can do better. But I realized my problem, and I knew this all along but hey i got in a hurry. The reciever is silightly stressed due to poor stock fit. I hate that stock with a passion, its a piece of S**t to be up front about it, basically had to re-inlet the whole thing, and i'm still not good at that, but learning. Also glass beded the crap out of it. So with some more work, I'd say 1/2" groups arn't out of the question. My load that i've worked up to is IMR 4350- 60.5 grains, win cases, cci 200 lr primers, and a hornady 200 grain interbond seated at 3.339. Its a thumper for sure. Lesson learned: don't buy stocks of E-bay that are made by a shade tree stock maker. You get what you pay for. Brenden
AzRednek
Congrats on the first!! Now that you're completely hooked, whats next?? You will really know you are addicted when you get 2 or 3 going at the same time or build another in a caliber you already have.
