  1. I have a Santa Barbra alloy trigger and that locking slit just behind the handle locks on the alloy trigger arm. Same thing is on the yugo commercial actions. The brits and the cheks were either buying and selling or they both had the same ideal. Appear nickle coated the one i bought from private seller on ebay.
  2. Above comment is right. Cut and splice. Possible for mini mark x. 223. I bought on for a donor handle. Welded it on nicely.
  3. I had some 308 match brass unfired in a box of random 308 brass I purchased off gun broker. I was loading some planking rounds for a 95 mauser. The brass wrinkled going through the standard 308 win RCBS dies. The wrinkle was right where the neck and brass expanded. I verified my depth of press and was using lube. They appear to be smaller, tighter. I did shoot them through my 95, it has a Remington take off barrel that is forgiving. I loaded them at the low end charge. *** small ring acceptable pressures. They when in the range trash. I shy away from the bench rest, match reamers. I am a practical man with a practical plan. If you want competition shooter that is it.
  4. I love the personal touch given to each rifle. Side note, I had to retreat away from rifle building for a while. Little one on the way. Just bought a new house to house the little one. Life goes on. My baby girl will be a shooter.
  5. Couple more builds. 1. VZ24, 7mm Rem Mag, 25" triple crown barrel, Fajen stock, Nikon Buckmaster, Parker Hale trigger, hinged trigger guard, Tigged Bolt, Parkerized then Duracoated. Primary Hunting Rifle for many years. Several moose and caribou in the freezer. 2. VZ24, 30-06 Sprg, 24" Adam and Bennett F34, Hurricane Katrina soaked walnut stock off gunbroker, Leupold Gold Ring, Remington open sights, Timney Trigger, Shroud safety, forged bolt, Parkerized then duracoated.
  6. 22-250 so fast it doesn't have time to deviate. Yeah the finish needs a nice clean metal to adhere to. I sanded and polished for hours on some rifles to remove years of tarnished bluing and bubba coatings. That 3 shot group can be covered by a quarter. Nice! Looks like it is time to stretch it out on some longer ranges.
  7. I forgot about this one I started about 2 years ago. KKale in 30/06 sprg, Ackley improved. It is waiting for when my interest comes back in AI.
  8. Here is what they are: 1. Model 1924/47 serb 7x57, 24" douglas barrel, side safety parker hale, 1909 argentine- shortened mag well, hinged. vortex scope, Bell & Carlson stock, floated. 2. Kar98 small ring 7x57, 22" E.R. Shaw barrel, shroud safety, welded bolt handle tigged, open sights, cheap simons scope, walnut stock, floated. 3. Model 93 spainish, Remington take off 22" barrel, forged bolt with custom knob, ramline stock, floated, Weaver scope and rings, timney trigger, shroud mark II safety. All rifles are normally parkerized. 2 have baked on moly. All are done in my shop. All have had their day in the field.
  9. Az, Nice, I love those lam stocks. I had tons of wood stocks, non laminated, and they would swell up during Alaska's wet moose season. Long days in the rain. I had to switch to Lam's or plastics. I hate the plastic stocks but "it is what it is". I kept a lot those in straight wood even though. I like the fact you went as far as putting close range sights on your builds. That can be tricky on getting them straight without a 300 dollar jig. I have a 270 with a Mcgowen barrel 1969 on a santa Barbra comm action. Excellent shot placements. I have shot hundred's of rounds with no noticeable wear on the rifling. I assume it will outlast me.
  10. Nice, I like the maple pistol grip end and forearm tip. Wood and Metal. 93 or 95?
  11. I like to look at others projects. My workbench is empty, and I have lot's of Mauser action's and barrel's. Give me some ideals. Show them off, bubba or not. Few pic's are fine, or whatever. I have completed about 5 sporter's, I will post some build pictures soon.
  12. I have four K-Kale actions. Mine are all purchases made over the last 20 years of gun stores and shows. One is the different thread dimensions. I made one into 270 win. Remington take off barrel. This is interesting they got some in. I would load up on 3 or more, but my FFL holder moved away.
