FC
I'm hearing bitter complaints about auto-replies saying a new topic has been posted. Yeah, I get them too, and I thought I shut them off on my account. Anybody else? Actually, thinking about it, as the administrator, I get the failure to deliver message notices, and everyone should be going into their control panel and stopping notifications of new postings. If that doesn't work, let me know. To change notifications, if your view is the same as mine: top right, click "notifications" icon. Choose options, then change notification options. brokengun
I have been receiving auto replies for some time and just thought it was a way to encourage use of the site. I may change it later but I'm not going to complain about. This site is a good one and worth keeping. I do wish we could see a few more builds or tricks of the trade but I figure most people are like me sick, broke or both. Thank you for your work and efforts in keeping this site up and going FC. FC
Well, things change and hobbies change too. We're past the cheap gun days, and new, highly accurate rifles are coming out at fair prices. Still, there's a lot of things we can post on. rdm1962
I'm on Gunboards. They are getting hit with spam really bad also. I wonder if it's some anti 2A group is behind it. Ralph
Dr.Hess
We used to have a bad spammer problem. That's why we went to manual confirmation on new user registration. That, combined with the question(s) cut it way down. I think we really had one or two bad spam bots attacking. Whenever they would program the answer to the new user question, I would change the question so they would have to reprogram it the next day. Eventually, they got tired of it and went somewhere else.
