I was at an shipper in Kali, and had an run in with an foreigner that was just in to much of an hurry to set and do nothing.

Was over 200 cases short and had to call in dispatch, 6 hours in the dock, and pitch black out there. The guy pull up and told me to move. I tried to explain in an nice way and he just got upset. He moved over to the wall and got out of his truck and talk to security. She came over to asked what the problem, rudely. I explained again. Told if I have an problem, go in the office.

Went inside and talked to three people. One asked me to move against the wall. No problem. Walked outside and the same security guard was in my face. Told her to get away from me.

Got back in the truck and told the wife we are leaving with out permission. As I was leaving the foreigner beep his air horn, I slammed on the brakesame and pull them. Jump out lookIMG down my drivers idea then walk around and down the passage side. He open his door and I asked him why he blow his horn. He said my wife flip him off. Called us an few names and I just thank him for the complimentswitch. He got madder then an old wet hen.

The security guard was on the phone with 911 and standing in front of my truck. After asking her to move very nicely, I just give up and went into the truck. She finally moved. And I left.

I was told by my dispatcher the other day that I was banned from the shipper. Good, I did not like that place. Waiting forever for products and not get paid for it.

Go get em. Don't know who your pullin for now and if your runnin paper or e-logs but I don't see how anybody could run over the road on e- logs legally and make a living. I won't fool with a shipper or receiver very long. But most will and that's why they treat us like that. I've had the law and wreckers called on me more than once for parking cross ways of the gate setting the brakes and crawling into the bunk and shutting everything down.

I don't have that to contend with much if any now but it'll make you pull your hair out I know. Getting banned from those kind I've learned is a good thing and the fact it's in kali would just make it that much sweeter, I hate that damn state with all the bs that they force down truckers throats, idle restrictions,55mph truck speed ,bridge laws, emission standards blah blah puke !

I've been afraid with all your health problems lately they might pull your med card but glad they haven't. Hang in there.

I'm a shipping and receiving manager for a major retailer, bed bath beyond. Don't laugh guy, if I were single it would be the best pick up line ever. Every Woman I tell that to says "I love that store". Anyway, I treat all the driver I meet with respect. If there is an issue, being nice always gets the problem solved quicker than being a jerk. I only had to report 1 driver in the 12 years I've been doing this. He was a UPS freight driver. He was disrespectful to one of my female employees. I refused his delivery and ordered him off the dock. The next day he and his shop Stewart (their Teamsters) came to apologize to my employee and me. I know that time is money to you guys. I make sure every thing is ready to go before calling a carrier. To many shipping managers think they are better than the guy's doing the driving. I figure the jerks will always get what they deserve in the end. Some of shippers understand what you guy's go through. Ralph

My med card was never pull because I was fully released from my doctor and everything was good. Even went through another physical back in Dec. With the hernia. Told the doctor that was giving me an physical the doctor name and time frame that it will get fix. She commo with both of my doctors and give me another year.

But as an driver, I know there will be times were I am setting and times rolling. But most problem that I deal with is foreign drivers. Like from India or Eastern Europe. And the middle East.

But seem that everyone is in an hurry and driving is no longer fun like it was when I started.

Is there a chance they gave you grief over your European Heritage?

I used to change tires for a living and had acquired the nickname truck tire. I know that time is money for a driver and setting is not money.

I used to deal with drivers coming out of Chicago that always seemed to be lost, claiming they forgot their glasses at home or some such nonsense.

I always helped them get back on the road by showing them a road map. Still this day I don't know how they got a drivers license without being able to read

Ralph your kind are unfortunately the exception instead of the rule. Chances are we'll never cross paths at work as I'm in the livestock end of things as it ties in well with things here at the farm but thank you for your consideration. I'd bet it's been a while since a driver has bothered telling you he appreciated getting in and out of your place in timely manner. We are our own worst enemy I know, but when I come across someone who operates like your self I go out of my way to make sure they know I appreciate them.

Rob you been around it long enough to know that chances are pretty good that guy didn't have a good reason for what he did and was just another CB Rambo mad at the world because he's not at home where he wants to be and is not making the money he thinks he should is eating crappy truck stop food standing in long lines to take a nasty truck stop shower and has no idea where or if he'll be able to find a place to park and sleep later and sees no way out of it. And the fact that a large percentage of drivers are just plain low life's.

Brokengun you just plain earned your money the hard way , I've busted enough truck tires in my time to know , I prefer these new tubeless tires to the split rims I started on but would prefer to just not mess with em at all. And never did do any of it along the road that just scares the hell out of me, just won't make anyone in a service truck do that unless there just is absolutely no other choice.

Been out here for 17 years and 1 more to go, then local stuff. More likely running gas. We are own worst enemy because we let each other get away with crap. My company went from an good one to like Swifts or US Xpress. We don't treat each other withand respect. And when we do see something wrong, we don't say something. That why we can't park at Walmart any more at most places because we don't have respect.

My dad was the shipping and traffic mgr for the now defunct Goodyear Aircraft later known as Goodyear Aerospace. Goodyear banned an entire trucking co. Goodyear was doing some publicity photos and asked a Phoenix based trucking co for a couple of new tractor-trailers for pictures with some Hollywood and local celebrities that were Goodyear stock holders. The trucking co's dispatcher for some reason had a hard-on for Goodyear and took Firestone tires off older trucks, removed the Goodyear tires from the new trucks. The new trucks showed up with Firestone tires. .

My dad was told the dispatcher was canned but word came down from Goodyear brass the trucking co was no longer allowed on the property. Afterward when deliveries were attempted either here or to Goodyear Tire and Rubber in Akron. Security would not allow them on the premises, deliveries were refused leading to several disputes with the Teamsters and drivers. .
