Racepres
Is this one??? or is it just a Sporterized [and painted] 1903?? My Eldest drug it home and thinks it is somehow collectable... We need help...This ain't no Mauser!!!
AzRednek
Looks to me like a nicely done sporter and dandy hunting rifle. Unfortunately as it is no longer in its original condition its value as a collector's piece is gone.
Limpid Lizard
Retail it is about 300-325 gun if the workmanship is okay and the serial number is high enough. It basically has no retail value if the serial number falls in the low range. That would be below 800K for a Springfield and 287K for a Rock Island. gun nutty
Is that a slot for a Pederson device on the left raceway?
Racepres
Is that a slot for a Pederson device on the left raceway? Yes...I spent all night finding out this is a Mark1 from 1919, and most probably no way it can be a "real" Sporter. A Mark1 that someone had a Dream for...that's all, I'm afraid!!! Gonna be a Disappointed Kid tomorrow!!! That's Life....
karlunity
If the bore is in good shape and the rifle groups 2ins or better over a ten round ( two reloads with an 03) at 100 yards. Your son did well indeed.
