  1. Hello to All, I heard from DJ early this morning (4:44 a.m., to be exact) and he is overwhelmed with the packages. He is expecially grateful for the sweats because, at 55 degrees, he is cold! (Here we are with 16 degrees and feeling good that there isn't any ice falling on our head!) Regardless, he and Lyle are amazed at the graciousness of the people who have sent them tons of snacks, clothing, magazines, and other items. They send their humble thanks and asked that I let you know just how much this means to them. I believe that the rest of the platton is feeling a bit shocked to see these guys get so much stuff, but our boys are all sharing in the wealth of the season and remembering what Christmas is really about. Speaking of Christmas, the guys are loving handing out, or throwing out, the toys to the Iraqi children. As I've been told, the kids are very needy and they are lapping up the goodies like we would ice cream. The men are waiting until the kids are walking home from school, though, to toss out the loot because, as DJ said, "My mo would kill a kid with a toy in school!" (Poor child, he remembers my taking away his G.I. Joe in church!) There internet time is very limited, as are the phone lines at this time, so they are not being given enough time to communicate with us ans they would like. It is rumored that they will be departing Iraq around February 28, 2009, and going on leave sometime mid-March to mid April. I cannot wait to see my son!!! Thank you for sending, caring, and reaching out to our troops. Please have a blessed Christmas and my God shed his blessing upon each of you. Cathy and Frank

I bought one for my step son before he left for Iraq and he said he loves it so much easier to load a magazine he shares his with some of his friends. If any one has any ideas how I can get some companies to donate them I would deeply appreciate it. They are around $24.00 each. There is a video how it works on some site, so if you would like to see what it looks like and how to use please check some of the sites that have it. I hope this link works. Thanks guys for your time. Frank The stripLULA I can get them for $18.50 each which is a great price. Maybe I can get some help from other people to just buy 1 each. I am hoping to get 50 so every guy can have his own. I just can't afford to buy them all that is why I am asking for some help. PS I sold 30 so far only 20 more to go or what ever I can get.. Thanks again please email me or a pm
  3. DJ Pics2 Hi, I'm sure that some of you are getting tired of the photos, but when I get them I'm so overjoyed to see my son and his buddies that I cannot help myself. I'm sure you'll be able to spot DJ in these pics, too...he has his mom's knack for making faces and goofing off with the camera! Most of all, there are a couple of group shots of the guys. A couple of cool pictures show a bunker, the Euphrates River, and a bridge crossing the Euphrates. I hope you enjoy these as much as I do. I must say a special thank you to everyone who has answered the emails and postings from Frank and me. In less than two weeks, we have had over 100 responses and packages, letters, and toys for the Iraqi children are being mailed out courtesy of many loving hearts. Thank you so much for supporting our guys...all of them. They are very thankful and appreciate everything that is being done back home. DJ in Iraq 2 Take care and enjoy! Cathy

  7. This Marine is serving with my stepson DJ in Iraq and gets no mail or care packages. Dj shares his stuff with him to try and make the guy feel good. We sort of adopted him as our son. The link below is free to send him mail its just like a email his name is below also. So with the holidays coming up I hope you can find some time in your heart to send this young man a package or a letter. We all remember what it was like when we where in Nam or the service just couldn't wait till we got something from home or from family. Thanks for your time guys and have a great Thanksgiving day, and God Bless https://www.motomail.us/ Pvt.
