  1. If its a left hand thread it may be a 6.5 barrel for a norwegian krag. If so lets make a deal!!! Jim
  2. Well I did it my self!! Put the bugger in my padded vise and pulled one way then the other and BAM! it was apart and...............RUSTY!!!!!!! out came the Kroil,CLP,wire brushes, steel wool and 3hrs later! PRISTINE!! Put it back together(that was a little touchy but it worked) Took it outside and fired off a full 5 rds as slick as only a Krag can do,American or Norwegian!! Gonna get me a deer this Fall!!!! 6.5x55 is a great little(?) cartridge . All the best from up here JITC
  3. Does anyone know how to disassemble a Norwegian Krag Bolt?? Are there diagrams or instructions available?? Really need help on this one!! I'v e got it shooting but now it goes click softly and the bolt just slidees slowly foward!!!??? Thanks JITC
  4. What I'm going to do is JUST leave it the way it is!! My arms are getting tired and there is no improvement. I'm reloading some 6.5 soon as dies get here and will see then how it shoots. The guy I traded with never fired it so I have no reference points . Many thanks to all(the electro route looks interesting tho) JITC
  5. Just got a Norskie krag in great outer shape but the bore is Dark, dark, dark!! Its a 6.5x55. I've got the barrel filled to top with Shooter's choice for Overnite but I tried about 30 or 40 patches and it is still black. I used Kroil/J-B paste and still not clean. More elbow grease or what? Any suggestions? Is this condition from corrosive ammo? I want to hunt with this but now I'm a little sceptical. Thanks from the CANUCK and greetings from up here, JITC

  7. Anybody see the 1909 carbine "original" peep on Ebay? Looks to be Brass and is from Argentinia. Ebay # is 170203631988. Is this a genuine sight? Looks like a front sight also. Never seen one like it. Regards JITC
  8. Hi, I'm having a hard time finding 175 gr .284's up here(at least at a decent price) Doe anyone have some Barnes, Nosler, or?? they would sell and ship to Canada?? Thanks Jim
  9. Hey tinker that was loud and clear!! I'll try it soon, hope it works. I think it looks a lot "cooler" than the chapman 2 position swing safety. Jim
  10. HI I have a line on one of these k98 sniper safeties but will it fit on a 98 1908 Braz. ?? Is ther any "gunsmithing" involved? Anyone ever used one on a sporter?? I'm up in Canada so write loudly! Regards Jim
  11. Well I just joined this august foum and am buildinga 9.3x62 on a 1908 DWM action that had a really poor Barrel. As a CANUCK I mostly hunt Moose ,deer, and black bear. I live on my farm in Southern Ontario where there are lots &lots of deer&bears. My moose hunting is usually a 16 or 18 hr. drive north. My major question is has anyone ever shot one?? What is recoil like? I'm told its milder than the 375H&H and 338 win. but more than a 35 Whelen. I reload everthing I own so LOADS are not a problem. I have brass, bullets, dies etc. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks JITC
