Here's a 1909 I fit with a custom floorplate, bolt stop, safety, and bolt handle. I recut the rear bridge too, when the custom scope rings and bases come it I'll need the other hole put in it. It feels good to get some of these projects going again.

Way to go Don!! Glad your back at it and especially good to see you haven't lost your touch. I can't wait to see the finished product although it will make me a bit envious of your skills. The checkering on the bolt handle is really eye catching.

Have you decided on a caliber yet?? Something about the Argie actions that say 35 Whelen, 375 Ruger or some exotic caliber.

Nice job Don. Who's straddle floorplate did you use or did you make that yourself? I presume you are going to thin the guard like you have shown in past posts. If so, how about providing some dimensions particularly concerning how much taper to put from front to rear. Thanks

Very nice, as usual Don. I've never seen a bolt sleeve like that. Did you mill that from std issue? Also, glad to see you're back in your groove. That really was pretty quick considering what you've gone through.

The floorplate was made by a custom gunmaker in South Dakota. I sell them if you are interrested. As for tapering the bow, I do it by eye. When it looks right I stop.

This is for a friend of mine, it's going to be a .416 taylor. After some more work and heat treating of coarse.

Bolt sleeve and safety was made by Stuart Satterlee.

nice work don.

stuart makes a very nice safety, when you can get them. i'm considering buying one for my mini mauser project.

i don't know if you would be interersted but i just happen to have a new lilja octagon barrel blank with a .416 bore that i would make you a good deal on if you don't have a barrel yet. it's advertised on the other site

Thanks, that's a new McFarland handle I tig welded on. The receiver was already drilled and tapped when I got it so I milled it down afterward. As for rings and bases it is getting a custom made set of rings, like talleys but magnum width, not the narrow .500" ones. They are at the prototype shop now getting the CNC program written.
