"god Is My Husband"

I know that God says He is a husband to is us(Is.54:5, Jer.31:32), but has anyone actually met someone who believes that? So far, I have met two ladies who say that God is their Husband.
I was talking with a lady I used to date last night. We dated previously, but broke up because I got her all hot and bothered one night by kissing, though nothing happened, and she wanted to tell me that she wouldn't have sex with me. A fact I already knew.
She started out by telling me that I was a "Godly man", and I had a bit of a meltdown. I did(and still don't) not feel that I am qualified or worthy to be called a Godly man. When I objected her calling me that, she insisted, and in the space of about two minutes I went from being a Godly man to a man with no close personal relationship with God. That ended that relationship.
Scroll forward to last night. It has been a while, and I was trying to see if maybe I had over reacted. So, we talked about that, and I explained it to her, and I think she understood where I was coming from.
Then she says, "God is her Husband",eek.gif and she won't cheat on Him because He does all kinds of things for her. She will stay with Him, until He hands her off to a man.facepalm.gif This was her way of telling me that she wouldn't mess around before marriage..................a fact I already knew.
This is now the 2nd woman I have heard say this, though I have heard others refer to that. The first would come into a Christian chat room on a Christian dating site and type, "I don't need a man in my life, God is my husband".
I don't think I have ever a guy saying anything remotely similar to this.rolleyes.gif
There is a reason why I have pretty much decided to stop dating ladies from my specific religon. sigh

I found that meeting ladies in class worked. Take some class at the local college in something you are interested in. Even if you have no luck, you will still learn something.

I used to get for the lack of a better phrase "lucky" at dog parks. When meeting a woman first things I'd attempt to find out if they are druggies or alkies. I also learned women taking prescription antidepressants are usually trouble.

I wouldn't say anti-depressants, because, heck, even I take those! Actually, they make me less ornery, for some reason. Anyway, the Church is the "bride of Christ". Women are odd creatures, and I think that when they say God is their husband, that often means that they aren't in the market to marry. Women seem to have an easier time staying single than men. I'd just say, "Sure, okay, God is your father, and Christ will have his bride in the Church." Sometimes I think they just have poor theology.

In my experience women are always looking to get married.

The only question in their minds is to whom?

I spent many years as a fly on the wall in the faculty lounge, mostly women there, and marriage was a very central topic of the ladies. : ) I am convinced that we do not chase them...they make that appear so, but in fact, they catch us!

They do? I'll tell you one thing I know- women love their nests. One thing that worked against me in the military with local girls is that they did not want to move away from their families, so I was out of the picture for most of them.

I agree, Tony. I have spoken with several women that I met on "Dating" sites. Almost every one expected me to move, as they didn't want to leave their families. There was one who refused to move to my house, and my town, and had several other "restrictions". We broke up because I wasn't marrying her fast enough. She always said that she "had" to be married to survive.

Then she met another guy, got married, and did with him everything she said she wouldn't do with me............................................................but then he made almost twice as much money as I did.
