Crimea

Crimea:
Russia is not going to give up it's forts and territory, that it has had for hundreds of years in the Crimea any more than Lincoln would give up Fort Sumter and the South.
The EU is NOT going to fight a second Crimean war to keep it as part of the Ukraine, not when a good part of the UE needs Russian gas in the winter and Russia is the most powerful atomic power in Europe.
So the Ukraine WILL be split. The Western part may join the EU but the Eastern part will join Russia.
You heard it here first.

Today............Russia landed troops, choppers, and planes and now in complete control of the Crimean Penninsula. Their warships have blockaded the Ukranian Coast Guard vessels.

It's Georgia all over again..........with Putin claiming it was necessary under security agreements with the previous Ukranian Gov.

Personally, I don't think we need to go putting troopies into the Crimea. We don't need a US version of The Charge of the Light Brigade. And who would they fight? The Russians? That would go over well. The NATO agreement with Ukraine is going to be out the window too. "YOYO" (You're On Your Own....) Putin knows the US isn't going to start or escalate WWIII over the Ukraine, so he can do what he wants. The Europeans won't do anything or their gas gets turned off. It's a mess, but I think it should remain "somebody else's mess."

Russia is NOT giving up the Crimea. it has been Russian for hundreds of years...look up the Crimean war.

This is not Serba in the 90's Russia will not be bombed by Nato without bombing back.

The Russians have the tools and the money and the will.

Paris and Berlin and London and perhaps Washington are not going to risked being bombed in reply.

Nope. Soros and the NGO have reached the end of the road with the color revolutions and the birth of the NWO.

They met a man who will not play that game.

If the NWO wants Russian land they will have to fight for it and I dont care how much security the NWO types have, an SS20 will ruin your day.

So, another part of the world that has been at war since time began is at war again. Yeah, Karl, the EU (as in "F the EU" quote from our State Department to the Ambassador of the Ukraine) is not going to take on the Russians over that.

Oh I agree. I've met some Ukrainians. With their heavy accent and *ov name, you ask them if they are Russian. The answer is always "NO! I am from Ukraine!" I think they remember the 20 million or so that Stalin killed are are still not too happy about it. I guess they are "west" Ukrainians. Sucks to be them, but it still isn't our fight. They have like 40 million people. Let them work it out, in my opinion. But then, I don't make any decisions in these things, so that carries zero weight.

I read WSJ. Saturday was an article highlighting the visit of Georgia's president to Kiev. He pinned Putin and his tactics. He said the West has no idea of the power it wields against Russia. He recommends sanctions, freezing assets, and prohibiting travel. He said those in power in Russia would turn on Putin. Also, Putin puts on a strong Russia face, when in fact it is country with rapidly declining population and a relatively weak economy. This is a game, and Putin has a method. He understands strength, and won't bend to less. Like China, the world had better put aside it's happiness and pleasures and stand up to the thugs or lose- little by little.
