Dr.Hess
I've been to Baltimore in the 80's. I kinda liked it, what I saw, which as was typical is the dive bars near the oil terminals. For a dive area, it was nice. Didn't explore the whole city. You know, this time, they kinda have a reason to be upset. Now, the Ferguson thing, that man had it coming. Charging a cop and fighting over his gun. But this one, while it looks like one of the area's low lifes gets taken into custody, is possibly injured in the process, and after doing nothing but running away from a cop in the first place, then winds up with a broken neck? If that's what happened, something doesn't smell right. And how come the autopsy hasn't been released?
karlunity
I agree It does indeed seem like the cops worked him over. That should be protested Looters and arsonists however should be shot. Still as the it seems that the Media cannot make a race issue as I understand it the cops and mayor are black as was Mr. Gray..i expect it to soon blow over.. ken98k
My feeling on the matter is this. I never feel bad for anything that happens to a cop.
AzRednek
My feeling on the matter is this. I never feel bad for anything that happens to a cop. I could tell some real horror stories about myself being mistreated by police, even being shot at by one. There have been two times in my life when I really needed a cop and despite the problems of the past. I was dam glad they showed up.
AzRednek
I've been to Baltimore in the 80's. I was in Baltimore three times in the early 90's. I was traveling for the union to DC. Not my choice but on the union's dime. My local's secretary determined it was considerably cheaper to get a flight into Baltimore, rent a car and drive into DC. My first trip while Map Quest was in its infancy or what ever website the rental agency drew me a map. Directed me through a pretty scary looking area a few miles from the airport. I saw a roadside sign with an arrow pointing to a freeway and got on it asap. Fortunately after a few miles I saw a sign saying DC XX miles. I exited near DC seeing two cops beyond the exit that gave me directions. My third trip, knowing my way around a bit better. I got on the tram in Baltimore directly into DC's Union Station that got me with in walking distance of the hotel. DC taxis aren't anywhere near cheap but most cabbies will avoid the wrong part of town.
Dr.Hess
I could tell you some horror stories of the LAPD beating and almost killing my brother. He is schizophrenic. They would either arrest him or beat him. If they beat him, they wouldn't arrest him. Baltimore:
spec4 e4
I really don't like Baltimore to much. People are very rude up there in the city and just pass you by if you need help. Plus the mayor and city council is far to left for me. Even the mayor said give them room to destroy. Rob
karlunity
So far as I understand the left has been running that city since 1967. karl
AzRednek
Baltimore's mayor now has her side-kick Al Sharpton as a spokesman. Here is a video of Sharpton speaking on behalf of Baltimore's mayor and her handling of the situation with the "thugs". Notice the big smile on Rev Al's face after he has spoken. http://i.imgur.com/wmlCPQn.gifv
Dr.Hess
They charged 6 officers. I also read somewhere that a rough ride in the van was sort of SOP for that police department. They would handcuff them, put them in the back of the van and jerk the van around. Apparently this one went too far, someone died and they got caught. AzRednek
I'll bet nothing comes of it. They need a scapegoat at least one white cop will go to prison. Most likely the one doing the driving and if he is black the state attorney will find at least one white cop to prosecute. If the white cop is acquitted by a jury the rioters will hit the streets again.
karlunity
They will send over a couple of black cops too. The left hate them as well calls them Uncle toms. karl In this case, I don't feel sorry for them..they had NO reason to arrest Gray. Keep in mind that if America has now become a land where you can be busted for looking at a cop and running, considering the posts i have seen us write about pols, we would all be in a reeducation camp ..or ..shot. karl
AzRednek
In this case, I don't feel sorry for them..they had NO reason to arrest Gray. karl I'm not sure with the conflicting news reports if the cops had any business arresting him or not. Fox News reported Grey was seen by police making a drug deal. The alleged account of exchanging eye contact leading to the foot pursuit may be as hokey as the "hands up don't shoot" BS that was spread on major news outlets as gospel truth. I heard on radio news today the cop driving the paddy wagon is black and is charged with murder. The news report indicated six cops have been charged but I didn't hear the specific charges. My guess is the local print media will be publishing the cop's names and home addresses soon.
karlunity
I read the eye contact comment on the official report that the city and police first posted. I am sure that the story may well be corrected by the lawyers but it is what they first posted on the news Found this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rough_ride_%28police_practice%29 karl
AzRednek
I'm still awaiting more news on the passenger that claimed Grey was deliberately trying to injure himself then later changed it to "lightly tapping". We may never know what really happened as the driver will likely cop a plea bargain.
