Since the oldest has been a bit disappointed over his 1903 experience..He has decided to sell his dehorned, and bobbed stock 1917.

D&T, and pretty good barrel, that I believe is Original.

What would he dare ask for it at the upcoming gun show???

Thanks

again not a Mauser...so I have absolutely No Clue!!!

It has been shortened to 22" and a Rudimentary Crown that seems adequate. The Scope Mounts seem straight and test good with my Alignment "Pins". It is a Winchester, with Winchester Bolt .. If that makes any Difference.

Going to be a Small show locally [Edmore] in a week or so...

He has enough "other Stuff" to maybe make it worthwhile for him to get a Table..Don't tell his Mom tho...She will be sure I should have some "stuff" on the Table also!!!!

Last gun show I went to was The Big One in Tulsa last November. Anything that went bang started out at two bills, and I mean ANYTHING. Now, I'm certainly no pricing expert and know very little about the 1917's, but I would SWAG that at at least three bills, maybe starting price of 350 in today's market. Prices may vary up there in the frozen north.

I think I posted some pricing observations after the show, but off the top of my head, beat to crap Turks were $250 cheapest to 350 for something that looked like it might actually work.

If your going to a gun show start by asking a little more so you have room to work out a decent deal. From what I read and hear gun show prices are a premium for just about anything.

Yea...But not a a small local show like this..

one can ask for what they really want...and stand fast...no BS

We don't have that kind of Time!!!

I appreciate your concern tho. Thank You

Best way to sell a sported Enfield is to avoid the 1917 moniker and talk it up as a 30/06 Winchester. If not asked don't mention it being an altered mil-surp. Used rifles, suitable for hunting fetch 2-300 in my neck of the woods.

Good point right there....

I'll Remember that!!!
