I like most shooters got hooked into the shooting hobby starting with 22's. A former co-worker successfully defended herself and two daughters with an older Hi Standard 22 mag Derringer. The shot went through a hollow core bedroom door first did not drop him but it did scare him away. He was later caught after driving himself to the ER claiming a gun cleaning accident.
