I took vacation to work on the 1912 church building we bought. This work is not for the faint of heart, or feeble of body. Nothing like the programsame that finish in 60 minutes.

Barbara was here for a couple weeks, then flew home. I'm going to clean up and load tomorrow. I've been staying in our camper. It's unbelievably cheap here, like $200 tota, including cable and wifi.

This place is pretty out in the sticks. People here don't generally have much, or look like much, but they are generally very giving. People coming to the estate sale of stuff from the previous owner (he was going to open an antique and thrift) have hauled our building rubble, brought us drinks, lent us tables for merchandise, and lent me a brad nailer.

Still a long ways to go on this place. I'll post pics when I get home. Antique doors didn't work out, so my brother lent even more free time to help put them in. Hot, hard, exhausting slow work. We uncovered the brick and concrete baptismal. I call it the community indoor pool.

The antique dirt, dust, birds' nests, etc wreak havoc on my asthma and sinuses. Yeah well..

Only problem we had was the neighbors hogging the so-called alley with their dog memorial and school bus. They moved the memorial after we put it on the town council agenda. Heck of an argument between that lady and my wife. Later the lady got more communicative. So b it's kind of like Mayberry here. The Mexican food is great!

DivinING for sewer and gas lines i's highly popular here. My brother and later the town fixit guy both used coat hangers to spot the sewer. Both pointed out the same spot. Not sure if it's occultism or not, but those wires crossed all on their own.

It's interesting to me, Tony.

On the allergies, are you allergic to molds? You might try spraying down everything with some MultiQuat.

I'm not familiar with MultiQuat but I've had good luck spraying bleach or diluted pool chlorine on mold.

Tony if you're going to be hiring handymen or other workers. Cover your rear and make sure you have liability insurance in case one of the workers injures himself. A landlord I met and had a conversation with while we were waiting for court to begin. He claimed he hired two wets to do a roof. He said they were smoking pot, got into some horse play, one fell of the roof and broke a leg. He claimed he had to write a check after the worker went to a lawyer. He didn't tell me how much but apparently the lawyer threatened to report him to the state for not having worker's comp. Since then the one roof repair I needed on a rental. I hired a licensed contractor. Don't know about other states. In Arizona the employer is responsible for any injury regardless of the circumstances.

Good points. I plan on applying B-I-N on all surfaces to be painted inside. That will seal odors, knots, and anything else. There's not any moisture or mold that we can tell, but dirt and dust galore. I'm on my way home. The work has been hard, hot, slow, and backbreaking. I was so sore the only thing that didn't hurt was my ears. My brother feels about the same. He said everything takes 3-5 times longer than you think. The contractor I'll use costs probably half what I pay at home. It's him and another guy in their 50s. He's also an associate pastor. He had a good knowledge base.
