Charleston Trial And Dhs

We were doing a walking tour in Charleston Tuesday and walked past the courthouse. I couldn't believe it, for the young guy who did the church shootings, Dept. of Homeland Security was armed and guarding all the doorways. Why? Why not South Carolina LE officials? Kind of bothers me to see DHS in the ordinary LE role.

According to a now retired cop I know. The feds rarely got involved until their help was asked for by local law enforcement. He told me now the feds often arrive uninvited, have gone from assisting and now often attempt to take the lead in an investigation.

I don't have any inside info on the Phoenix Freeway Shooter but according to local news the ATF and FBI were heavily involved in the investigation. The interstate system being federal property I would guess they have the authority. One arrest was made and it turned out the 40 cal pistol supposedly used and verified by ballistic testing. Was in a pawn shop as collateral during the time frame. Guy was arrested after paying off the loan and recovering his pistol. Judge let him go for lack of evidence.

Trump's claim of cleaning up the inner cities will likely be done by Fed LEO's. As much as I like the stop n frisk program. If I were stopped and frisked by a bunch of feds. I'd really be pissed and would give them a ration of verbal abuse they would not likely forget.
