  1. Sunny Hill Enterprises and Sound Metal Products make hinged TG for the intermediate length, beautiful but a bit pricy. Bob
  2. Vlad, this gunsmith came up on Accurate Reloading and 24 hour campfire with a customer problem. looks like AR deleated it but there are bits and pieces of the discussion on 24 hr if you do a name search. maybe he changed contact info, but still does not justify no communications with a customer. Bob
  3. Don, yours looks great, billingsley and brownell in wyoming always showed those in their gunsmithing ad in rifle magazine how fine is the checkering, lpi Bob
  4. Hello WD, I was told they are Brazilian for the 1908 model and variants. Bob
  5. Nice job of sporterizing, looks like a Herter's recoli pad with the z style white line and the stock also looks like one of Herters. Barrel still has the steps of the military contour. Looks to be made in the 60's-70's on a style that the owner favored. I happen to like the reworked military warhorses of that period, did a few myself. Yours is special as it belonged to Grand Dad. Keep it as is and enjoy it. Bob
  6. Hi Bob, It could be a scrubbed Model 1935 Peruvian. I have one that is made by FN in Hertstal Belgique, serial # on left side of front receiver ring, notch in front receiver ring for .30/06 when rebarreled/rechambered, has the T tower and arrow belgium proofs next to and above the serial # and on the rear bridge their is stamped .30 for the .30/06 chambering. There could be a few other South American Mauser that got this treatment after WWII. HTH Bob H
  7. PS- Your web site looks great
  8. Hey Mike, looks great, was the front and rear rings surface ground? nice detail on the side rail, so many guys overlook that. Do you fish tail the sear slot ? With the tapered tang, the sear sometimes nicks up the slot or jumps the slot alltogether. Keep the pics commin. Bob H.
  9. LC, Nice work, full length stocks always look classy. There is a old Outdoor Life Book by Jim Carmichel called Do-It-Yourself Gunsmithing and he has a chapter on Styling the European Sporter that is a full length stock with a mid-forend schnabel. Quite informative with lots of photos. The pics always helped me as sometimes it was tough to visualize what I wanted to accomplish. If you would like to borrow the book just let me know. Good Luck, Bob
  10. Tradewinds Inc. of Tacoma Wa. who was the importer of the Husqvarna line of rifles, Barreled actions, actions, scopes etc. sold these in the 60's. That peep sight was called the Tradewinds Snap-Shooter and was designed to fit the factory drilled HVA actions."Micrometer click elevation adjustments, sliding windage adjustment with inset locking screws, no protruding knobs to distract the eye from the aperture". Francis Sell, the outdoors author, who was from the Washington-Oregon area wrote about and recommended these little gems. Bob
  11. My 1910-1936 Mex. Tg's all have a small Y in a circle O at the base of the trigger bow. Never seen Mex's with the serial # stamped on the tang and plate but anything is possible. I have a Greek MS 1903-14 with a cross in a circle on it. Its similar but not exact. Will keep lookin
