machinist1
Hi. With the vast knowlege of the people on this board it's hard to believe that no one knows anything about double set triggers. How about some help, maybe some pics? Thanks, machinist1
donmarkey
Hi. With the vast knowlege of the people on this board it's hard to believe that no one knows anything about double set triggers. How about some help, maybe some pics? Thanks, machinist1 I shot one once. That's the extent of my knowledge though. Good luck, I'm waiting for an answer on this too, to see if it's something I'd like to try. -Don
z1r
Triggers are one of those topics that are hard to discuss via the web. Much better with pics or better yet in person. Also, due to the importance of all parts fitting & functioning properly, something I prefer only to discuss or work on in person. There was a decent article in the shotgun news late last year or early this year. It was the Mauser gunsmithing special they published. Mostly they discussed installing the setup which included the necessary mods to the triggerguard. For functional questions or adjustments it might be better to get the manufacturers instructions. Since you posted over your original we now have no idea what your issue was?
roscoedoh
Jim Carmichael's Do-It-Yourself Gunsmithing has a chapter on installing double set triggers. You might look around online and see if you could pick up a copy of this book. I'm pretty sure it answers your questions about shaping the kicker. machinist1
Thank you for your replies. I bought a Mauser sporter (guild gun?) at a gun show, upon disassembling the rifle I discovered that it used to have double set triggers. I decided that I should restore the rifle as it was. I found a used double set trigger assembly w/out the kicker. I got a new kicker form Midway. But I am not sure exactly how to fit it. Thanks gunnuty for the directions from Brownells. And thank you all. machinist1
