Andrewratliff387
I have lurked around looking for snao caps with no success. If someone would be willing to make a primer less dummy round I would pay them for their time.

Andrewratliff387
I'm thinking about a custom build I just want to see how it works out in my current action.
AzRednek
Seems to me a 30/06 cartridge would function the same. 35 Whelen is simply a 30/06 necked up to 35 caliber. If interested I likely have a virginal 35 Whelen piece of brass and a 35 cal bullet. Currently my loading equipment and bench is buried. I've been rearranging my house. Depending on my health it could be weeks or months before I can get to my press. If you have a seating die you could probably assemble your own dummy. If you have any 35 cal die with a 35 expander ball, possibly a 357 expander might work and a 35 cal bullet. You could assemble your own with 30/06 brass. Reply here if the brass and bullet will help and I'll look day after tomorrow.
rebel49
Headspace dimensions for .30-06 and .35 Whelen. .30-06 from base of cartridge to headspace datum point = 2.0526" .35 Whelen from base of cartridge to headspace datum point = 1.9892" Info from SAAMI so the cases are not the same. I stand corrected!! Several years ago I bought a Savage rifle barrel kit in 35 Whelen and the gauges included were marked 30/06. Could have been a screw-up by whomever packed it. I never did use it, selling it to somebody on the board years ago. I believe I have a few unfired 35 Whelen Remington factory brass. If I can locate it, I'll send you one. Currently I'm not very mobile, got steroid injections into my neck yesterday. Might be a day ir two before I can get to it. Have a heavy tool chest in the way.
