Had To Order Rubber Grips For My 45.

I had refinished and polished the wood grips on my 1911 RI and I must say that they look sharp. Polished the wood with up to 1200 grit paper and 0000 steel wool till the wood shone and 7 coats of tru-oil and seven coats of wax.

They are outstanding.

BUT

I have to replace them with rubber grips.
Problem is that as your hand get sweaty and I do live in FL, the grips get slippy and that ruins your aim.

Bummer.

But I would rather hit that target than look good.

Pacymar are ok,

I like them or Hogue.

I was thinking of the wrap around but I have had problems with finger placement.

on some 9s and a 380 i use them on. it works but it is not perfect.

I have a big,head but for my size, small hands and feet..weird i know. : )

Got my new grips from Houge.

Black rubber standard 1911 grips.

They look more like the 45 grips we are used to and feel good.

I shall report back after a trip to the range.
