karlunity
Russia was not ever going to let NATO take Sevastopol. In their mind...Ukraine joins EU..DA...then NATO DA. NATO takes over Russia's ONLY warm water navel base. They have waged wars to keep the place. As long as the Ukraine was not part of the EU, Putin was willing to take that risk. But Not now. If Panama decided to turn the Canal over to Red China, what do ya think we would do? Little Mac is an Idiot. Supply arms to the Ukraine so that they can fight Russia ? Fine idea John...But what do you do if Russia shoots down the NATO transports or sinks the NATO ships carrying those arms? What if Putin says "Oh Yeah, and takes the whole Ukraine? What then..Little Mac did say "No-boots on the ground." So what will you do? The UN..Nope sorry Russia has a veto. Invade? With the French and Germans at our side? They did not have enough bomb to finish off Libya. If anything would start the Russian atomic missiles flying, it is the idea of the Germans marching back into Russia. Or shall we avoid that and go it alone? We did not finish Iraq...or Syria...or Afghanistan. Not the troops fault they stood to it like men and women, the pols punked out ...again..and you want to fight Russia? Remember if our missiles can reach Russia, theirs can reach us. McCain makes me think that God did us a favor in 08. karl
FC
Reagan supplied arms to the contras, which was a good idea. This also defeated the Soviets in Afghanistan. Tell you what, Poland, Estonia, Ukraine, etc. need to unite and be willing to fight the Russians.
