Full Auto Ar Stock.

There's a newer type of system out. I don't have the name with me, but instead of a stock, it is a fire control group. The safety lever even goes all the way over to where a full auto would go. This one has the bolt reset the trigger when it comes forward, so if you keep holding the trigger, it will move forward on you during the bolt return and it simulates full auto fire. Comes with an ATF approved letter. It is not cheap. I saw mention of it in SGN once.

Any device that gives a semi the ability to simulate full auto is going to give the antis scare tactics to use on the ignorant public. I saw Feinstein on the news making a big deal out of the slider stocks. Saying something about rifle stocks converting assault rifles into machineguns. Enjoy them now. My gut feeling is eventually they will be out lawed.

There was a device back in the 70's that was originally approved by ATF then later they flip-flopped. The device was used in conjunction with a legal trigger crank device. Instead of a hand crank a spring wound and powered device attached to the cam shaft that rotated against the trigger. I remember seeing the devices in SGN then they disappeared. According to a member of my gun club. ATF used UPS delivery records to track the devices down.

The slide fire stocks are a Version 2. Version 1 had a spring in it to push it back. The guy had an ATF approval on it, tooled up, sold some and they flip-flopped on him. He had to track every single one he sold down and get it back. This version has no spring and they approved it.

One of my biggest pet peeves about the feds is the bureaucracy and the power to destroy one's lifestyle and bank account. No telling how many dollars the manufacture and his investors spent re-calling the devices then re-tooling. Guess I'm more irritated that the feds with no compensation to the victim of somebody either making a mistake or changing their mind. Can get away with it with no liability. The manufacture could probably spend 10 years and big bucks chasing a civil suit. Then spend another 10 years and even more money trying to collect.

Back in the 70's again. Friend of mine ordered a muzzle loading cane gun. The SGN ad also had a letter from ATF in their advertisement basically saying it was ok. I can't recall exactly how ATF's letter green-lighted it. Possibly the cane gun was considered a replica or curio and relic. About 30 days after my friend sent a money order, it was returned. Enclosed was a short note saying the importation was blocked by US Customs and ATF. The seller claimed he was going through an appeal process but USPS mail order regs required buyers be refunded. My friend was never contacted again by the seller or do I recall seeing the ad again. The SGN merchant likely had to pay the overseas manufacture up front for the goods and shipping. My guess the chances he recovered any of his investment are slim to none.

I'm seeing some local internet chatter regarding ATF reconsidering the arm brace used on AR-15 pistols. If the rumors are true ATF will demand the $200.00 NFA stamp for a short barreled rifle. ATF recently published something saying something about anybody shooting an arm braced equipped AR could be charged with a felony if caught shooting from their shoulder. My guess, ATF's concern has something to do with recoil pad kits for the arm brace I've seen for sale locally.

I'll see if I can find it and post it here.
