  1. Perhaps some form of celtic knot panel to replace checkering.
  2. My prediction is that this cartridge will go the way of the RUM and WSM cartridges. Ammo and brass is very hard to find for some of these already and following their initial sales spike sales have dropped as folks realized that most wouldn't do anything that cartridges brought forth a hundred years ago could do. As for Nosler's big sales pitch that these will give magnum performance in a 30-06 length action, maybe the should go to the net and look up Rocky Gibbs. They are pitching a 129 gr. bullet at 3400 FPS. Rocky was hitting 3100 fps with H4831 over 50 years ago with his straight walled, short necked reformed 30-06 case. The .264 Hawk provides performance matching the Gibbs. I wonder what Rocky's 6.5 Gibbs would do with some modern propellants? IMO, Once again marketing is simply providing a solution where there is no problem just to generate $$$$$. RD
  3. Got this in an e-mail. Not sure of the source.... Catholics Broke for Obama, Evangelicals for Romney Catholics voted for Barack Obama over Mitt Romney by 50 to 48 percent, while Protestants preferred Romney by a 15-point margin -- 57 to 42 percent, the Religion News Service reports. Obama won 70 to 26 percent among Americans with no religious affiliation, 69 to 30 percent among Jews and 74 to 23 percent among other religions. Evangelicals voted for Romney 78 to 21 percent -- the same rate as Mormons. Additionally, those who said they attend worship weekly preferred Romney by 20 points, 59 to 39 percent, while those who said they attend less frequently went for Obama by 25 points.
  4. Looks very nice. Keep us posted. RD
  5. I use acra-glas to repair cracks like this. If I can spread the crack a small amount I do so and apply the acra-glas with a toothpick. If the crack is visible on the inside where it won't show I'll drill a series of 3/32-1/8" holes through the crack about 3/4 of the way through to the outside. These holes are less than an inch apart and, as I said do not go all the way through. I pour acra-glas into the hole and using the back end of the bit I used to drill the hole I force the acra-glas into the hole. I pull the bit out and do it again with more acra-glas using the bit like a mini pump to force glass out through the crack in all directions. Even the smallest cracks can be glued in this manner. For the last push I use a piece of wood dowel the same size as the drill bit. This plugs the hole and provides additional strength. This method works best with the original acra-glas that is very thin. It can also work with the acra-glas gel but requires a bit more patience. This gun may be a prime candidate for a cross pin available from Midway USA. http://www.midwayusa.com/product/752327/talley-crossbolt-for-magnum-rifle-stock-steel-in-the-white RD
