I currently am shooting wolf factory ammo 148 grain bi-metal jacket, the barrel is original and I cut a new crown then enclosed it with a stainless steel tube. This 100 yard group is typical grouping.

The picture shows the sleeve around the barrel with a machined muzzle cap. I filled the void with a heat dispersing compound, I have a write up about it on my blog www.knowyourzero.com

The theroy behind the barrel jacket "sleeve" is to dampen barrel nodes of viberation, this is to produce an almost zero sign wave of barrel whip and also have the benifit of increased heat dissipation of the barrel.......improve accuracy, from what I have seen on other buidls over at www.socamo.com I would say YES.

There is no arguing with the results, if the groups are typical. The ammo is good basic stuff, but certainly not match quality. You improved the looks of the rifle and it shoots well, and that is a win-win situation anytime.

I have a couple M44's, and added an ATI stock to one, as those steel buttplates will leave a bruise after a few shots.

Thanks for posting.
