Cold Bluing Tips.

Thanks for any tips with the screws. By the way, I've already tried heating and polishing the parts.

The screws may be a different metal that won't blue. I've used that cream stuff and it works great on anything that will blue, which is a rust (oxydative) reaction. Will they stick to a magnet?

Yep, flame blueing is an old 'trick of the trade' that works very well.

I use Birchwood-Casey "Super-Blue" for parts containing high carbon, nickle, other hard parts blueing.

Flame bluing??? Whats that?
Heat the screw head until it turns blue then immediately quench in oil.
