Siamese Sporter

I don't know the details but I guess he can use straight walled cartridges to deer hunt at his property. Where normally would be shotgun only. So hence deer rifle. Where I hunt we can use just about any rifle so I just use my little 06 or my win88 for walking.

Arizona G&F regs are pretty simple. Any center fire ammo with an expanding or soft tip bullet good for all big game except Bison. FMJ and tracer bullets are prohibited. Bison requires a bullet weight, any caliber of 220 grs or more. There was an effort a few years ago to allow shotguns shooting buckshot for Javalina but as far as I know the regs were never changed.

Varmints, pests or any non flying, non regulated or endangered animal. A licensed hunter can use anything from 22 short, sling-shot, air gun or even Falconry. There are some no-lead either bullet or bird shot areas in Arizona. Near the Colorado River by the California / Arizona border. From what I was told, the no lead areas were established by the feds.

Guess if somebody wanted to use 30 Carbine or a rifle shooting a handgun cartridge on big game. It would be legal but foolish.

Done what are the dimples on either side of the action opening? powdr

The Siamese action had a breech port (ejection port) cover. In its rear-most position, it covered the ejection port; it slid forward to allow ejection.

I'm betting those dimples served as stops for a matched "nub" on the cover's underside.

You can see the dust cover in this video:
