FC
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2014/06/03/nra-says-open-carry-texas-group-too-extreme/ I don't particularly care for the picture of the AR-15 toting into the store.
Dr.Hess
Saw that. I think pushing the open carry like that is a bit much myself. It is not helping the cause.
brokengun
Well I guess I'm in the minority. I don't have a problem with open carry.
Dr.Hess
I don't have a problem with it either, but I don't think it is really something we should be pushing like that, being deliberately confrontational. I think the potential for blowback is greater than the potential for helping the cause.
karlunity
The NRA is far from perfect, it is just the best we have at this point in time. karl
rdm1962
Missouri is also a open carry state. You don't even need a permit. Very few people do it, mainly during hunting season. I personal have done it when hunting with my Ruger Redhawk. It a scoped 7 1/7 revolver. Kind of hard to hide. I don't see the need to open carry just because you can. Why give the Anties. any more reason to find a new cause to go after. Ralph
ken98k
Bad move, rubbing the left's face in it, right after a mass shooting. I'm sure the Left sees these people the same way I see gay rights parades. These people are not helping our cause, and now they say they're going to stop supporting the NRA. Do you think the Left hasn't heard of divide and conquer?
AzRednek
Chris Cox one of NRA's Veeps apologized for the harsh language on Cam & Co today. He specifically apologized for the poor choice of words but seemed to me to avoid supporting or denouncing the demonstrations. Personally I see the long gun open carry demonstrations as a threat. Sooner or later the other side will do something deliberately stupid. Drawing the attention of the news media who will in turn point the finger at the NRA. Same thing some libs were doing at Tea Party rallies by carrying signs with racist slogans. If you can recall CNN's coverage of Tea Party events. Cameras would by pass patriotic signs, American flags and zoom in on some weirdo carrying a racist sign or Confederate battle flag. MSNBC did the same but added a tidbit about the crowd being all white lacking any minorities. Failing to mention having a black woman as a speaker.
