  1. I finally finished the second rifle
  2. I have to only kinda agree. The REPUBEicans will just about sell their souls for tax breaks for the wealthy but aside from money I believe that the second amendment is just as sacred to most of them. If for nothing else than the fact that this country is a right leaning country and to assure votes this subject won't be compromised by the majority of them. Now this isn't to say that some republicans won't go Benedict Arnold on us but those must be identified and replaced by constitutional people. If all this doesn't work then by the graces of good a 1776 part II I believe is what is bound to happen! Thank god I know you are on the right side of this. ;-)
  3. Well I finally finished one of them. I pillar bedded and glass bedded the barreled action and finished painting the stock with a low gloss ceramic engine paint. Now its time to bore sight and fire it. ;-)
  4. Well its been awhile. I've finally been able to get back to work and I removed the rear sights and mounted my scopes. Here's a couple pics.
  5. I have started shaving the wrist section down. I'm not sure if I will do anything with the crown. Here's a picture with the shoulder strap hole filled.
  6. Thank you this is my first attempt at something like this. Yes, I just filled the sling hole and finished Sanding. The comb? Is that the area with the groove and recoil lug? I would like to extend the pistol grip but I'm not quite sure how or what to use to do it. I have started shaving it in at the top. I don't have big kossack hands so I also was basing that area off of my Remington. I appreciate the comments and welcome any and all advice.
  7. Here is a few stages of my work so far.
  8. I have been looking at a lot of Mosin sites for stock conversion ideas. I have found a lot of variations. I finally decided that I would take my Remington 700as a basis to go off of. In the end I plan to paint the stock a flat black. I initially bought two 91/30's. I plan to work on both at the same time except for the final paint scheme. I'm undecided for the second rifle. What I really need some suggestions on is how to paint the stocks after I have pillar bedded and floated the barrel's. My concern is the paint interfering with the interior of the stock. Should I tape off the barreled action, install it and then paint the stock? I will post pics occasionally and I am always very open to all suggestions. I also plan to use aluma-hyde II to paint the barreled actions so the other question I have is do I pillar bed after I paint the barreled action?
