  1. Things take time, didn't want to just jump in to it, researched where to go first.

    S&W's

I checked on the M28, it was made in 1966. So the .357 is 10 years younger than me. The .41 mag was made in 1980. Both nice guns...I like them. I don't think I'll get lucky enough to pick up the .38 I want so I'm not going to try too hard. It was a nice gun till it got stolen. I can wish for it again but I have a feeling it just wouldn't be the same. I've got these and I like them a lot.
  3. Hmmm... the word "Fine" - I've used that once or twice and actually meant it (as in I give up and just please go away). "Five Minutes" - yes I will be ready in five minutes...if you are not ready in that time I am leaving without you because I will not wait. "Nothing" - oh yes that is definitely correct for the most part. However, when the argument ends in nothing I would suggest you leave quickly, very, very quickly as my temper has just about had enough of the whole situation (as in why didn't you just listen to the word "Fine" and go away in the first place). "Go Ahead" - nope not a dare, it actually means please go ahead I'm listening and would like to hear what you have to say or please go ahead and do that. It is not said lightly and usually only said when I'm working with my brother or my friend (normally around guns and equipment). Don't have time to say much else. "Loud Sigh" - haven't tried that one yet - I'll let you know. Only time I've done a loud sigh is when I've been extremely tired and wanted to go to sleep. "That's Okay" - the above is a minor interpretation, one which I've rarely used in that aspect. Usually used in hey that's okay meaning it's all good. "Thanks" - umm, that usually means just that. Except when said heavily laden with sarcasm (usually right after somebody has ripped me off of money or something else). Okay, there's my reply... and no I'm not what you would call normal, but is anybody normal???

    S&W's

First up we have a nice little .357 mag w/a 4" barrel. My friend Ron lent it to me for awhile and after dickering with him for about 3 months we settled on a price. I thought he'd never sell it to me. I think it's had oh 100 or so rounds put through it. Not sure what year it was made in but it's a Model 28-2 and a N frame. Nice gun and in really good shape (probably either early 80's or mid to late 70's most likely). He hated it anyway so it was a good buy for me. It's still not the S&W .38 special I'm hunting for (no I can't remember the particulars except it's a 6" barrel and was most likely made somewhere in the 50's or 60's) but it'll do for now. The grips however, are close. I think however, the .38 had K grips and not N grips. Still not a bad little .357 if I do say so myself. Next up is by far my favorite for looks (not sure whether I'd actually want to take it out and shoot it just yet) is a .41 mag w/4" barrel. Again I got this from Ron. This one came with the presentation box but unfortunately all the plastic or whatever inside the box is falling apart so I need to address that. This gun however is NIB and has never been fired. The original grips were missing when I purchased it but Ron while scrounging in one of his storage units came across 2 sets of S&W grips and turned them both over to me. One set happened to be the correct set for this particular gun and I immediately put them on it. A special thanks to Tye for informing me I needed to go on a hunt for the grips. It's a very nice Model 57 from 1980 according to the serial number - beautiful blueing and just a minor little scratch on the cylinder (sigh). All told the two guns together cost me just a little over $700. I don't think I did too bad. Besides I'd of paid more just because I like S&W's (provided they are old).
  5. I had not realized he had stayed away. I will ask him about it. I do know he's not been feeling well of late.
  6. Sometimes I just get busy and forget where I've been...the end of the federal government's fiscal year is now gone (as is another year for me age wise) and I have a bit more time to do things (I think?). So hopefully one will see more of me. I'm also trying to take a little bit more time for myself and have developed a few bad habits - newer handguns. I love milsurps but handguns are becoming a very fun thing of late. As for the rest of the thread....it's like some have said - it's a bit hard to rebuild 3 years of work overnight. Almost disheartening in fact. Chewing the Cud and even the flame section keeps the rest of the area sane. Do we sometimes spend too much time in just these two forums? Probably. But like anything else, it's a phase or a cycle and like everything else that too will pass as more people arrive and things start to liven up elsewhere on this board. You just roll with the punches some days. And before anybody asks what the heck I'm doing online at this time of day --- yes I'm home sick. I've tried for over a week to fight the cold/pneumonia and it won (but I actually beat the pneumonia part so I win for a change.
  7. Geez guys would you just quit hurting yourselves? Seriously get better okay...
  8. FC, I truly wish you luck because you're going to need it. Personally, I think those nurses need to get a wiff of real life in the trenches and what it means to work a bit. This ain't no free lunch and being a nurse is not an easy job. They want that kind of life go somewhere else. They want to serve and to help people step up to the plate and quit their bitching. End of story...
  9. Yes, I've heard the word many a time before FC. Must be something that Texan's just don't know. Or else it's a more western type word as in up in the high west (not like where you live)? Don't know but it's fairly common or was when I was growing up anyway.

    Cocaine

While that is true that the child will never have the ability to prove themselves, there are so many variables to factor in because of the mother having been a drug user. You have just as much a chance of the child not coming to term because of that alone as the accident itself. You can't save everyone Tony, no matter how hard you try...sometimes you just have to sigh, say a small prayer and move on.

    Cocaine

That is sad FC. However, maybe it was god's way of taking his child home sooner than most. After all it probably wouldn't of been much of a life for a kid with the mom already hooked on cocaine.
  12. Tye is talking about this type of bulletin board I believe phpBB com
  13. I'm not arguing with you there FC. I put my 2 cents worth in the moderator section but at the time they decided to stick it out. I can understand why in a sense. When you've got it built up and have been there such a long time - change is hard. I still feel bad for the way you were treated though.
  14. The money was at Flhunters board until ezboard started doing their supposed fix on the Community Chests - then all of a sudden poof the board went from $595 to $0. Flhunter put in a request to have it looked into and ezboard said well we have researched this and you are entitled to something like around $285 or something. So there you have it - ezboard at it's finest. I truly think they are stealing the money out of the community chests to run the boards and/or pay the staff. Because they are doing this to more than just one board. Figure they can get away with it - probably will too.
