Trigger Postage

Sorry for not responding to everybody's message. Got home late from a concert and didn't get on my computer till after 1:00AM.

Don't worry about the postage for the time being. I put my Timney Mauser trigger on my postal scale and it only weighs a few ounces. I'll ship the triggers and you guys can send me a check or Paypal after it arrives for what ever amount shows on the postage label. I have plenty of bubble wrap and styrofoam pellets so possibly you may have to add two-bits or so for an envelope secure enough to assure its safe arrival. Any packages under a pound I'll send insured 1st class mail. If it goes over a pound, flat rate Priority Mail in the free USPS boxes will be the best way. Keep in mind parcels insured over $50.00 require a signature upon delivery. At least it was $50 when I retired from the Post Office, possibly it has been raised. If it is going to be problem having somebody home to sign, if your going to be out of town or anything let me know.

If your trigger and package go over a pound you're looking at a max of $4.95 flat rate Priority Mail postage. Postal insurance will add somewhere between 1.75-2.25. If you're doing a budget figure about $7.00 max. If I can get them to you cheaper via 1st class mail I will. I do not want to use 3rd or 4th class mail unless you live in Arizona as it might take up to, 2 weeks to arrive. 3rd and 4th class mail is shipped via truck and train along with so-called junk mail and at best you might save 50 cents to a buck. Most 1st class and Priority goes by air and it will likely take 2 days west of the Mississippi and 3 or 4 east.

I do not want to get involved with record keeping other than making sure everybody gets the correct trigger. I'll rely on you guys to be honest and cover the postage after your trigger arrives. Give me a day or two. My board inbox is at 98%. I have to get in there, clean it out and make some room. I'll need your name, board handle, street or PO box address and email if you want the notifications from the Post Office. A phone number might also be a good idea case something goes wrong. If your package is going to a friend, relative, neighbor etc to have somebody to sign. Please let me know so the address label can be marked care of (c/o) so the mailman doesn't suspect a possible insurance scam.

I don't want to post my phone #'s or email on the board. I'll respond to your email or board messaging with my contact info. I rarely answer my phones from blocked #'s and usually let the call go to voice mail. I check the board at least once per day.

Hope every thing goes well. In the future we can pool together and buy other items we all might use. If anybody follows the Cast Boolit group. They do group buys and get some pretty good deals on bullet moulds and other bullet casting accessories. I've been buying gas checks there and have also purchased a couple of moulds. The savings is substantial when the gas check manufacture gets an order for 50-100,000 gas checks. Sometimes even more of a single size. Board members save $$ and the guy handling the deal makes a few bux to pay for his time and labor packaging by weight in lots of 1,000 and mailing them to everybody. Feel free to post any suggestions for future group buys.

If I add $7 to the total money order I send and am willing to call it good, will that suffice?

Your time is worth something, and if you have anything left you can put towards some gas checks or some linotype.

The same goes for me also. I will be getting my MO and shipping info off this afternoon.

Guys, remember I'm not collecting for shipping. So please don't send the shipping money in the money order to me. Only send the money for the trigger when you mail it to me. If you want to put in extra for my time that's fine.

Please make sure you send your shipping money to AzRedneck since he is picking up our order and shipping them out to everyone. If you want to put in extra for his time I'm sure he wouldn't mind either.

I'm not looking to line my pocket. There have been plenty of times members from this group has sent me things for no charge so I'm just helping out the same way many members here have done for me. Just send me a check for what ever shows on the postage label after the trigger arrives is fine.
