  1. The theroy behind the barrel jacket "sleeve" is to dampen barrel nodes of viberation, this is to produce an almost zero sign wave of barrel whip and also have the benifit of increased heat dissipation of the barrel.......improve accuracy, from what I have seen on other buidls over at www.socamo.com I would say YES.
  2. I currently am shooting wolf factory ammo 148 grain bi-metal jacket, the barrel is original and I cut a new crown then enclosed it with a stainless steel tube. This 100 yard group is typical grouping. The picture shows the sleeve around the barrel with a machined muzzle cap. I filled the void with a heat dispersing compound, I have a write up about it on my blog www.knowyourzero.com
  3. Here is a Mosin Nagant I just completed it's a Russian 91/30, Bluegrass stock, Rock Solid mount, Timney trigger, the barrel was sleeved in stainless steel at 1-1/4"diameter.
  4. This project is nearing completion and it has been a looong road building this one! 204 Ruger build with a M98 argentino action, single shot sleeved in 2.50" diam. aluminum.
  5. nice work Don, those scope bases look awesome! along with the the rest of the rifle. Very nice.
  6. If he has a VZ24 receiver I would be interested in one....OK two.....it's a building addiction :/
  7. Just wondering if all is well with the reamer co-op, I sent you an e-mail (from bob_coles@hermanmiller.com)regarding a 6.5x55 finish reamer and gauges. I can send in a PTG 22-250 finish reamer,I would like to do this project in the next two weeks if tooling is avaliable.

    Thanks

    Bob

  8. I have been looking into this too, I see there is a Yahoo reamer sharing group that once you are "in" you can join that group. I need a 6.5x55 finish reamer and gauges, so I thought this would work out good, contacted Mike and am sending him a reamer, looks to be a good deal.
