Sig P 224

I have a possible trade offer for a Sig P 224.

Don't know much about it. I do know it is a compact version of a larger Sig. My only experience with Sig was a police surplus P-6 model. I traded the P-6 for a Franchi O/U 12 gauge. My biggest dislike of the Sig was the length of handloaded 9MM's. The over all length was critical. To short or two long at least one jam per mag. Paying very close attention to the OAL using jacketed hand loads or factory ammo it ran perfect. Accuracy was on par with my 1911.

I'm offered the Sig for my FNP 45. $$-wise I think we are close. So guys what'cha think. I have to give him a yes or no by tomorrow evening. The FNP has been collecting dust. If I'm in a 45 auto mood I've got my 1911 or my unreliable Taurus. I do like the idea of a reliable compact pistol with a double stack mag.

This is what I might trade away. Great gun, perfect reliability and it digests and swallows my home cast lead including SWC's perfectly. Way to large for concealed carry. If I'm packing while camping or other outdoor activities. I prefer one of my S&W revolvers especially in snake country. I got the FNP in another trade for a CETME rifle 100 rds of US GI 7.62 ammo, about a dozen US GI tracers and a bunch of mags I only paid two bucks a piece for. As with all my trades I try to trade up but this one as far as the bucks, about equal.

Deal didn't fly. Apparently I was dealing with a real Doofus. By phone we agreed to meet up with no obligation. Just to get a look at each other's pistols. Said he wanted a couple days to think it over and I wanted to see if his pistol was in as mint condition as he claimed. He didn't show, my calls all went to voice mail and he's ignored my email and text messages. Guess he decided against the swap but wasn't man enough to get on the phone and say so.
