  1. Thanks guys. Sounds like a piece of cake. No worries now. That M41 Swede surplus stuff is good ammo, but be forewarned that the lots currently out there are heavily tarnish. I found out of course, the hard way. Also found an easy and safe way to clean this nasty stuff is with 1/2 part vinegar, 1/4 lemon juice, and a dash of salt to 1 part water. Works almost instantly. Final buffing with 0000 steel wool brings out the shine quickly if you need the 'bling'.
  2. The folks over at Parallax referred me over here. I'm attempting to build 2 1893 Turk Mausers with new Swedish barrel, 6.5x55. Before I go crazy and order all those parts, I'm wondering if someone knows if .005 larger case head of the European 6.5x55, i. e. Norma and Lapau, will operate well with the Turks bolt face designed for standard sized case heads which are .005 smaller. 6.5x55 truly has an odd ball size. Okay, we can call it unique. It's important for me to find out has I have a lot of expensive surplus ammo using the .005 larger head. I realize that US 6.5x55 brass is the correct size for the 93' Mauser, but I already have the ammo!! Norma brass is about .50 each!! However, that and Lapau are far superior to the US stuff. The devil is alway in the details. Thanks, Flinch
