Who Would You Suggest For Bolt Sporterizing?

For $50, you are talking a forging job.

Consider what a weld-on requires:

1. Polish the handle before installation

2. Cut off the old handle leaving enough root to attach to

3. Polish the bolt body so you can get to the places that you won't be able to reach after welding

4. Jig the new handle and the bolt body to get the angle right

5. Install a heat sink to protect the cocking notch

6. TIG weld the handle on

7. Dress up the weld by milling, filing, grinding, and polishing

8. Final polish the entire job

9. Blue the handle

Add to that the investment in a TIG welder, gas and rods ($3500??), a jig, heat sink, and practice. This is not a ten minute job.

Are the 1903 Turk mauser "intermediate" bolts the same length as the yugos? i.e. interchangable?

Yes/no. The length is the same but the 03 isn't safety breeched and has the small protrusions just like the 98's. If you are rebarrelling you can make either one work.
