  1. Oh...I use a lot of Unique, so on the verge of being gone. I needed some, none around here, ordered was either Out of Stock, or Back ordered...or exorbitantly expensive, like primers were..in some cases still are. Same story with Red Dot...another powder that I use a lot of.. Found BE-86 available, and Reasonable, kinda, and use Grain for Grain replacement for Unique.. Nitro-100NF, being very fast...almost makes my Red Dot loads (not well), but got a Very good Price on some..so Trying it for Mild Loadings. Next I will run out of Bullet Lead!!!!! Yea I gots Problems...comes from Not Hoarding I guess!!
  2. Where are ya Finding Unique these days?? or Better, What is the latest price?? OMG...have ya checked for Trail Boss recently???? Glad I never warmed up to that stuff!!!!
  3. With the situation on Powder Availability currently.. I have needed a Substitution for win231, Unique, and Red Dot... The stuff I use Most Filling in the "blanks" with BE-86 and believe it or not...AA Nitro-100 NF If interested, I can Share some of my "tested" Cast Bullet loads...32S&W Long, 32H&R, 38SPL, 357Mag, 45ACP, 45 Long Colt, 45WinMag, 44Mag.....plus 300 Savage, 35 Remington, 7TCU, 222, and 221Fireball... working on 7X57, and 8X57 later... BTW; I rarely...almost Never, shoot Jacketed...
  4. LOL Problem is I do same with MotorBikes!!! certainly Old Harleys..
  5. Oh...If I get the pictures and they are nearly visible...I will... My Methods are sometimes Crude, like my Tools!! I have Few Problems tho...even tho I mainly "rescue" botched Mausers... and some Few other Homeless Firearms!! Coming Summer just now...so gonna be Sparse..I have plenty to do in good Weather!! Will Try
  6. Jeremy; Appreciate your Service, and your suggestions.. Will keep an eye out! The extractor I have seems "pliable", not springy like I expect it to be...like it did Not get Tempered?? I have made my own Springs, but am very hesitant to try my (amateur) hand at tempering such a piece!! In the mean time...I need to weld on a Bolt Handle...Will probably revive a Thread for Such...
  7. Speakin of Extractors....If you can Spare a Mauser 98 Extractor...please shoot me a Price. Please Marty Will be looking for additional stuff that can leave here...as I am getting rid of some "stuff" LMK what is needed...besides Receivers..fresh outta them!!! That Turk was the last, excepting them in Original trim...
  8. Have a Turk k.Kale that someone started and bogged down...Bought fairly inexpensively.. Came with a 270 Barrel. I do Not necessarily care for 270, and that darn action wouldn't feed it anyway...Gone! Fooled around with it alot different barrels ...8mm, 7mm, for quite a time... recently decided to screw a "project" 300 Savage barrel on... talk about a SOB to make Feed!!!! Believe me...the Follower is extremely important...on that Turk anyway!!! Feeds like butter Now.. Blasting up some Cast Boolits Now!!
  9. Those are really Not that Hot at all 45ACP's. The original Accurate Guide (red one same vintage as my Powder!!)goes beyound 11 gr of #7... even 10 gr of #5 for what they called +P.. In that 45 Win Mag barrel they are simply a Barrel of Fun...and Never...ever Miss!!! I dislike Powder Coat... On Boolits, and Certainly Not on My Motorcycles!!! But... Each their own, we should All do what works for Us!! Oh My on the 222-223 and steel targets... they make a Mess...and I too have a load with Unique to alleviate such happenings.. We just really like the Accuracy with 748.. they are Destructive.. the 44Mag I have all but given up on in a Contender... Just No Fun!!! In the Blackhawk... or certainly a Ruger 96/44... No Fun Like it!!!
  10. Between me and my two boys, after yesterday. ... We are slap out of 38 Button Nose Wadcutters, over 3.7 gr Bullseye.... 357 158 SWC, over 7.4 gr of Unique..... 357 158GC SWC, over 14.0 gr H110... 45ACP (out of the 45 Win Mag Contender bbl.) 200 CSWC, over 7.0 gr of AA#7.... 222 45 GCFP, over 20.0 gr W748..... 7tcu 130 GCRN, over 15.0 gr H110... All from Lee Molds! and finally 410 reformed from 303 British, 1/2OZ #7-1/2, over 14.0 Gr H110... Gonna be awhile replenishing our supply.... But we sure had a Blast!!!!! Just wanted to share!!!
  11. If they are Card only. Tells me they do Not care about My Business... All Good I go elsewhere. Period.
  12. Last I was in Northern Alabama was very Good.. Louisiana is warmer, but I don't like it quite as well, in some ways.
  13. Wondering aloud if a decent place for that Trail Boss Stuff??
  14. Yes and Yes... the reason I am thinking to leave some of the "ring" on a Rem 700 bbl... I tried a Homemade spacer just to prove to myself it will work!! Thanks appreciate all who care!!!
  15. Right... but... some nimrod, may have moved the front of the C ring Back...for what reasoon??? IDK All I know is that No small ring barrel here, including 2 that came off of other K.Kales, will allow any bolt on the farm to close, properly....the extractors and sometimes the bolt itself, Hit the Barrel...some more than others.. the Bolt that came with this action (gun show) is closest, as only the extractor "drags" During experimentation, I have found that leaving some 8-10 thousanths, (by Menmory, might be different) protrusion on a Rem 700 barrel would put everythin where it belongs. ie moving the c ring forward slightly... Odd? What??
