Beretta 32Acp Range Report

Got it up and running. Thanks to Doc's suggestion, copper steel wool got the garbage out of the chamber. Looked like tiny brass or copper specs. I previously shot some very old partially corroded European mil-surp ammo. My guess after splitting a cartridge it left the metallic colored specs in the chamber that weren't removed with conventional cleaning. I dumped the ammo in the range's garbage after my second hang-fire. The mil-surp ammo I bought way back in the late 70's. It was WW2 dated, 43 or 44 I believe. The Walther pistol I bought the ammo with I sold years ago.

As Gun Nutty suggested, ammo is also a problem. For some reason fairly fresh PMC factory ammo does not like to extract. I broke the rules smearing some oil on the PMC brass and the cartridges were easily extracted. Some very old Remington-UMC factory ammo had no problems or did some 4 or 5 year old Aguila brand.

A few months ago I pocket carried the Beretta 32. The interior under the barrel was loaded with pocket lint. Don't know how I previously missed it. I also discovered it pays to read the directions!! Break Free Powder Blast is not very kind to plastic grips. I feel sorry for anybody failing to read the instructions and warning and uses Powder Blast on a Poly frame.

The Beretta 32ACP definitely falls into the Belly Gun category. 15 yards is the max putting aimed shots into center mass on a Bonz brand target. 10 yards max to put an aimed shot into the target's bad guy's face. At best, it would be useful in a spray'n'pray scenario buying enough time to run away.
