Screw / Hardware Question

I need to weld up the locking screw screw holes on a trigger guard. After welding I'm certain that I will need to redo the gaurd screw holes.

My question is this- Which style counterbore do I need?

I think the guard srews are technically a fillister head screw.

Or should I get a counterbore for cap head (allen head) screws?

brownells sells a counterbore just for this. you might look at their website and see if you can determine which variety it is to aid you in finding one similar/cheaper.

I think you will find that if you go with a generic screw hole reamer that it leave a hole oversized to the screw heads. Get a tool made for Mausers from Brownell or Midway.

Vlad is correct. that 13/32 cutter will be way too big for the screw head. Brownells stopped selling these counterbores for a while. I got mine from a local supplier at one point. They are available but they are not a standard size.
