How Pistols Work

Now if I could just figure out why pistols don't work as well as they did 25 years ago!!

Kidding aside, when I get more time. I'd like to look for a follow up of this video to see the safety systems function. Showing my age I just don't trust auto pistols without a manual safety. I was trained in the early 70's to draw a D/A revolver and to put just light enough pressure on the trigger assuring finger was in the correct position.

Drawing a GI 45 or similar pistol like a Browning HP. It was finger with a bit more on the trigger but not enough to take up the slack and thumb on the safety. If the situation called for a fast draw, lighten pressure on the trigger and move the safety to fire position as soon as the pistol cleared leather. The only finger off drill I recall was with my long gone hammerless Colt 380.
