It should be clear to the Ukrainians that they are NOT going to get Nato armies or a no-fly-zone or ww lll. It should also be clear to the Russians that the Ukrainians can fight. So..NOW is the best time for the two to make a deal. If the Russians pay a blood price for taking Kiev, Ukraine has nothing left to deal with. But Russia does not want to lose more troops. So both sides have more to lose the longer this goes on.

Right it was Turkey...Right on the other points too.

Yep, And got a lot of both Russians and Ukrainians killed.Worse they played right into the hands of the Little Russia party

I am not a soft hearted guy  but it would have been better to tell this to both Russia and the Ukraine BEFORE the war.!!!!!!

Nor do I think the EU is going to risk London..Paris and Berlin over Kiev..Yes I know the Brits left the EU  but they still will go only so far.

What the Ukraine needs is a large boots on the ground army which they are NOT going to get or NATO must be willing to risk WW lll and hand Russia an ULTIMATUM  which they are  also not going to do..

Honestly I think the Ukraine is getting screwed.

Notice the longer the fight... the harder the Russian teams get?..Such is history

What I would do?

i would require the EU to forget the nice social programs and raise and pay for large armies. I would restore the draft in the USA, No deferments,,as we may have to fight Red China too.

THEN,,When I had the "Boots on the ground force" say to Putin, "This far you have come sir..but no more"

QUESTION IS: Will the EU and the USA support and pay for this? It is death or glory time again...

Europe has had a nice rest..but History is back.

Yep I think you are correct. History  the French and then the Germans has shown that the Russians will  not easily or cheaply give up Russia.

If they think that they are going to be conquered, I think the Russians will say if we gotta go..we take you with us..If it was the USA in that position I would push the button...Never said I was a we are the world type.

Gotta say the Russian army still looks like  the  Russian  army.  Bet Putin  is sad and sorry.  I suspect he has had rather harsh words with his Generals..What the Brits call a "meeting  without coffee"    The winter war part 2  ???

At bottom  it is simple as all things are..We simply dont think the Ukraine is worth atomic war. 

Make no mistake. The only sure way to save them is to drive out the Russian army and that will take Boots on  the ground and if victory is to be assured a very large American army. The EU simply does not have the troops. Russia will see that as an invasion and go atomic rather than lose.

That is a lot of risk if the USA is not under attack and one we are not willing to take. I only hope that Joe, our leader, Thinks before he acts.

The Germans said that the Ukraine will NOT now or later be allowed into NATO.So as that was Putin's reason as he said, he won and may go back to Russia

I suspect Joe will make a deal with Red China over Taiwan  and the  pc will hail it

I would not trust the media too far as I know from experience Face Book has ways.  I do think Putin figured that this would be long over by now. He has to get something or it is Russian Retirement for him

They are selling oil to the USA and will be selling wheat and oil to Red China. Do you think NATO is going to stop PLN ships  or bomb overland trade routes between Russia and China?  I dont as both are atomic powers.  Something is going on but either it is a game way above my pay grade or Joe has been out smarted.
