karlunity
Gentlemen. As medical professionals both in practice and admin, what do you think the end result of Obamacare will be if left un checked ? karl
odies dad
I am also in the medical profession (chiropractor). As I see it, there is getting to be more and more paperwork and limitations for less money. I dropped out of the insurance game a few years ago. Insurance wasn't paying anything anyway. I can work a lot cheaper if I don't have to fight with the insurance companies. Another big part of this legislation is medical records. My records are between my self and my patients. In the past, about the only time records were requested was in the event of some litigation such as an auto accident or work comp injury. Most of those times it was so the insurance company could find some way to weasle out of paying. With current policies, any bean counter can access your records and it tends to be them rather than your doctor and yourself determining what care you will get. Politicians complain about access to health care. There are no problems with access to health care. Just call your local clinic and make an appointment. The problem is paying for the care you get. If you have insurance, much of your cost will be applied to deductables and co-pays. Much of the rest will have to be eaten by the doctor or the hospital. If they don't get paid for the procedures they perform from you, they have to charge more to others to make up the difference. Some services are not approved even though your doctor feels they are needed. You pay a lot for insurtance and you still have to pay for your health care out of pocket. Much of the cost and procedures in medicine are CYA. The procedure my not be neccessary, but if it is not done, the doctor can be sued. Even if they do know what is going on and the best way to treat it, often medical practice policy will dictate what they have to do (= extra tests). Obamacare is designed to make people who don't need or use insurance buy it to help offset the costs to people who use it alot.
Dr.Hess
Obamacare is designed to destroy what's left of medicine so that the commie single payer plan can come next as Obamacare 2.0. He said as much in previous speeches.
FC
I agree with you both. Thank goodness I have Tricare! Obamacare is going to cause chaos and wailing on a grand scale. I agree with Rush and Mark Levin that Obama wants socialized, government healthcare. If you saw how horribly difficult and expensive it is to get anything done in government bureaucracy you would be stunned. IF I can get a project through, it takes me 1 1/2 to 2 years, due to "governance". It costs us more to get anything done, and harder to integrate systems. I've been trying and trying to get smart IV pump technology and medication barcoding moving in the DoD, and I'm hardly getting traction. These are basic things, and old technology. All the attention is on grand strategies and huge projects, not basics of our practice. Obviously the goal was to blame the insurance companies for rate increases and chaos after the roll-out, then push for government only as your healthcare option. That plan is falling off the tracks, best I can tell, since the government has shown itself incompetent.
karlunity
Thank you gentlemen. karl You know I am thinking that singlepayer may be a great new form of government revenue. A way to redirect funds into greater social projects without raising the tax to pay for them.
