Lee Is Not Making The "carbide Speed Die" Anymore.

Lee made this cool die for pistols for years, I have it for .38 and 9mm.

It was the carbide speed die. You put the die in the press and just had to change out parts.

It seems that they are no longer made..: (

I gotta hit the gunshows. I know some guys hated them but I liked them.

No reason why I need any dies as the local range does not allow reloads even with your own guns and the out door range is a two hour round trip. But it just does not feel right not to have dies for a gun.

Humbug

Hello Ken.

Nope.

It was a 3 in one deal.

It came with a body that was screwed into your press.

Then you screwed a part that looked like a fat washer into the body and resized your brass.

That done, you removed the washer like resizer and screwed an expanded decapper in the top of the body to finish up.

With practice it is quicker than changing out the whole die.

Got the 3 piece lee carbide sit and case trimmer.

Nothing wrong with the 3 piece set I have a lot of them.

If they are not making the speed die they are not.

Boy..am I beginning to sound like one of the OLD guys at the range. : )

Karl the 3 and 4 die Lee brand sets are pretty low in price compared to the other brands. Their 3 die sets were only a few bucks more than the Speed die. Past 4 or 5 years Lee has discontinued all of its slow moving items. They have also dropped many bullet molds including their hollow points. Check Midway, I believe 45 ACP Lee die sets are on sale.
