karlunity
Fellas. I lost a week with this darn id theft crap and now Gun Parts Corps is out of SKS trigger assemblies. Any body have a extra you want to trade or sell or know where I can get one for a reasonable price? (50 to 70 bucks) I cannot see paying more for a part then I did for the whole rifle. karl
FC
Karl, ID theft is a horrible thing to deal with. I hope you aren't out of pocket any money. Have you cruised the net for the part? What about Tennessee gun parts? Darn, forgot Layne's site name- might be TNgunsupply.
karlunity
Hello FC. As far as the ID theft goes, so far things seem under control. We called the 3 major credit firms and filed reports with the police and social security. I put a lock on the mail box and we changed everything at the bank so so far so good. Alas, Layne does not carry SKS parts. SKSMAN has some but he wants 100 bucks a pop. I cannot see that for a backup SKS made out of spare parts. My Scot's ancestors would haunt me. : ) IF I look at it like an adult, it is not a big deal as I have a few other guns to play with...but you know how it is once the gun bug bites. Gun parts will have more in a month or so. How are things with you and the family at your new home? It must seem a bit strange, being back in the mainland , after a few years in the Islands. Take care karl
FC
Remember not that long ago when Yugo SKS's in new shape were about $165? I have one, and though they are ugly, they are fun to shoot. I'm real busy between in-processing and getting the plantation together. The place was unoccupied for 18 months, and besides lots of yard work, there is house work needed, and the wife has started remodeling. The kitchen got a quartz counter after I ripped off the old one, and the bathroom will be contracted out when we have money. Kind of wierd being here. It's a different southern culture, but all in all it is good. Pretty muggy and lots of mosquitoes. Ft. Gordon reminds me of Hood. I'm not happy about them giving the informatics job to someone after promising Human Resources Command the job would be mine, but, oh well. I'll be working for a former boss from Hood's O.R., being her administrative help, I guess. I guess if you look at living in Florida you'll be in muggy country too. Barbara is in Albuquerque, being a hired gun for a couple of weeks for ACS. She says it's fairly nice there- hot, but not humid.
karlunity
Hello FC. I know what she means. Florida felt like a steam bath compared to San Bernardino but the Hippy liked it. It is beginning to look more and more like we will be heading South within the next year or two. This town was nice 25 years ago. It was an AF town, but once the base closed and place started to go down hill. Few good jobs and more crime. I hate to say it but I am getting too old for hand to hand so if someone tries to rob the place I may have to shoot him and this being Cali, I would be the one with the problem. Funny how places change..I wonder do they ever get better? Good luck on the job and the house..one thing if you have to by a mower, spend the extra 50 bucks and get the powered one. It makes doing yard work a lot better. karl
