AzRednek
Was starting to worry about you!! Was afraid you were spending to much time at the library kind of like Dr Zhivago and was really at Daytona Beach eyeballing the bikini clad beauties. Dr.Hess
Welcome to the South, Karl. Glad you could escape the PRC.
karlunity
Thanks fellas This freedom is un real. We leave the garage door open and even at night leave the windows open. The Hippy wants to air out the house Seems that they did not use organic low vlc paint. : ) If my project , a teaching handbook, sells every thing will be perfect. If not we are still ok.. karl
Dr.Hess
What city are you in Karl? Oh, and BTW, the PRC will follow you. My dad retired from 30+ years of teaching. In Compton. He has a teacher's retirement, but apparently before the NEA rearranged it all, as it is very small. If he moves to another state, the PRC still gets its income tax, regardless of what state he moves to. Tax law states that taxes paid to another state are deductible in your new state against the new state's taxes paid. That is, they are considered a tax payment in the new state. So, if he paid 2K in taxes to the PRC, but lived in, say AR where his tax liability would have been 1K, AR gets nothing as he theoretically paid 2K already and the PRC keeps his 2K even though he lived in AR. Now, if he moved to a state with no income tax, like, say for the sake of argument, FL, the PRC still would get his tax money and tough luck about all that. Yes, it is illegal for the PRC to do that. Who's gonna complain? A bunch of retired teachers that escaped the PRC? Tough. That's my understanding of it anyway, and I'm a doctor, not a tax lawyer. Karl you would be much better off taking a class. I'm not ragging on you about shooting skills but every state has some strange quirks in the law in regards to firearms and self-defense. It is usually a few bux more and possibly a waiting list involved but check and see if a nearby Jr college is offering it. You may learn something that could save you mega $$'s down the road in attorney fees. I took my first at Maricopa County College. The class was taught by a female shooting instructor for the Glendale Police Dept and we qualified at the police range. The instructor was a hard ass at times but she made certain we were all aware of the law. What to say and not say to police if one is forced to defend themselves was probably the best I learned. We were tested and given a transferable grade. The written test was much more difficult than what was required by the state but the extra time and expense was well worth it. Thanks AZ, I had not considered that. Karl
karlunity
Thanks Dr. Hess but I was never in a union. I spent 24 years working for a small Catholic school. Half the pay no pension BUT no PC ism and I was given complete freedom to teach true American History. Karl
Dr.Hess
I remember now, Karl, on your teaching in private school. Dad wasn't in the union either. He also referred to his job not as teaching, but as "crowd control."
