FC
Wayne LaPierre's response to the shooting was not memorable. We're going to have to do a lot better than this.
ShooterTom
I agree it was a weak response.
pacrat
I disagree whole heartedly. Since when is shining the light of reason on societal changes which have led individuals to the belief that murdering total strangers and innocent children in the quest for 15 minutes of infamy a bad thing. Mental nut jobs in this country are at an all time disporportionate high in relation to population growth because of these same liberal societal changes. Armed guards in schools is a viable deterant to these same nut jobs. Latest whacko shot himself as soon as he heard first responders. Nut job in Oregan mall shot himself as soon as he saw an armed citizen pointing a gun at him. If you do away with the "FREE FIRE KILL ZONES" allowed by the "NO GUNS ALLOWED" locations of schools and malls. The nut jobs will quit flocking to them for their carnage and possibly stay home and shoot themselves as they should. If you think that Feinstein, Bloomberg, O-hole, Pelosi, Schumer, and Lautenberg are correct that what is needed is another senseless law that only restricts law abiding citizens instead of criminals and wackos, that GOA and NRA should come to some compromise you are part of the problem. 20,000+ compromises to the 4 simple words "SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED" have done nothing to stop or even slow the criminal elements in society. As far back as 1911 with the NY Sullivan act only guaranteed that NY would have the highest violent crime rate especially gun related crimes of the 20th century. Compromises don't work, time to do something that does. How about the compromise of the NFA of 1934, or the GCA act of 1968, how about another big lie regarding the Feinstein/Clinton ban of 1994. Did any of them work to stop or slow criminals and wackos? HELL NO. Now is not a time for another feel good for Lib-Tard politicos and Media Whores legislation. Now is a time to start shoving "SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED" down the throats of the people who have usurped the words of the founding fathers 20,000 times and demand that the truth be told by the LSM and lying ass politicians regarding crap laws that do not do anything they claim to do and only undermine the rights of citizens. Time to STAND UP for your rights. Not LAY DOWN for the Lib-Tards.
pacrat
The latest wacko killer in NY was a convicted felon who had beat his 80 yr old grandma to death with a hammer. All I can think to ask is why was this POS allowed to continue breathing? A Liberal DA cut a sweet heart deal for Manslaughter and got a GOLD STAR on his own conviction record. Now the people of NY pay for his Gold Star. They found the remains of his murdered sister who he "hated" in the fire rubble this AM. Bringing his own personal kill total to 4 over the course of his 32 yr history of murder. One wasn't enough??? 20,000 gun laws already on the books and not one of them stopped this POS from having a 38 revolver, 12 ga pump, and a 223 Bushmaster. YEAH RIGHT, LETS MAKE SOME MORE GUN LAWS. THAT'LL WORK
pacrat
Hey if all else fails in a criminals quest for guns. They can just hop across our southern border and buy one of the over 2,000 assault rifles that O-hole and his lackey O-Holder sold to the DRUG CARTELS. FC
LaPierre failed to make a convincing argument to the general public. Just read what Joe and Jane average have to say in the comments of news articles. I believe in the power of the pen and the spoken word. There are a few people who know how to make use of it, such as my posting on the 95 y/o Navy vet: http://www.sporterizing.com/index.php?showtopic=9986

FC
Some substitutes were on Hannity radio show today. One wanted callers to tell them why they needed semi-automatic weapons. Excellent question, but no good answer from what I heard. Nobody will likely say they are fun to shoot, or you feel like an Army of one, or you think the government has to be overcome. So what's the reason? Good question, and someone with some clout had better answer it soon. Even at work a woman said nobody had any business owning an "automatic" weapon. Why do I have mine and a 40 round magazine? It's fun to shoot, and I hope I never need it. Not a good answer the aforementioned person. Honestly, I'd do fine with my .30-30, but hey, most pistols are semi-auto, and my shotgun is semi-auto, so where is the line? The only other thing I've seen the AR-15 good for was when my nephew shot four coyotes in a row. In my house a shotgun is the best anti-home invader gun. My biggest gun need is for protecting my chickens.
